This is 35 to 50 dollars worth of aurum gear if you were to buy it with aurum.

The new pack is nowhere near the value of the Merc pack yet it is the same price. It should swap the 7 Day Active for the 30 Day Active(+21,000 AUR) and include more aurum(set it to 20,000 to 30,000 AUR) which would bring it in line with the Merc pack.

I have too much time on my hands today.

I suppose this is only for people who are just downloading the game and don't know better but paying 20 bucks for a bunch of expendable std lvl gear is crap, id really like to see more permanent stuff in those packs.

Well the vet pack might do it for you now. you get 1 of each 30 day booster plus 100k aurum. You can buy 2 x 30 day bundles (1 passive one active) to end up with 90 days total of full passive and active with a little less than 7k aurum leftover. Your price per month ends up at $16.68 *( this is pricing from US PSN)

Here's a news flash for CCP, if you want people to give you money for "virtual" items, it's nice if some of them are actually permanent. It would've been nice to see Merc pack contents altered to have new BPOs prior to the Omega Sale ending. People would need a ton of Aurum to afford them, and anyone that's already bought the current packs will double up BPOs while still unable to trade or do anything with spares. Instead, there's this laughably bad bundle of lower quality expendable gear. Woo.

I agree that it's not meant to replace the merc pack, but at the same price point it's hard not to compare the two. As a one time buy starter pack it's price is too high - it would fit nicely at a $10 price tag giving new players some value for money.

To be fair, it only appears they're only 'ripping us off' because of the ridiculously good value of the merc pack. This new pack is not comparable simply because it is a one time purchase. I got my veteran and elite packs for the aurum and boosters. I used the aurum to buy the rest of the BPOs I was missing and a couple of passive omega boosters. If you haven't caught on, they've probably made more money since that announcement than for the past 3 months combined. Rarity is a powerful force in the market, and CCP understands that. I hope they don't start treating that power like some of the players in eve do...
