I can't really justify buying the new merc pack. Half the value in the old merc pack was the BPO, but with BPO's going out.... nope. Not anymore.
Besides, I already spent 40 dollars on Dust. I consider that like buying a new game (that has been out for awhile). So, mission accomplished. |

I don't think the "Tactical Edition" is meant to replace the old Merc Pack based on the following text (at the end of the page)
" Please note that the Tactical Edition Bundle can only be purchased once per account." |

True , but that was not my point.
The previous two pages were comparing this to the old merc pack, which I feel is not applicable. |

This is quite clearly not intended to replace the old merc pack.
It is apparently there to enhance the NPE, which they're pretty obviously (what with a Dev Post and all) working on at the moment. |

I agree. the New Merc pack is not good value at all. But having said that - perhaps this is only the first roll out of a few different versions? If the cost/value ratio is going to be maintained though, I'm not hopefuly for the rest.... |

I agree that it's not meant to replace the merc pack, but at the same price point it's hard not to compare the two.
As a one time buy starter pack it's price is too high - it would fit nicely at a $10 price tag giving new players some value for money. |

To be fair, it only appears they're only 'ripping us off' because of the ridiculously good value of the merc pack. This new pack is not comparable simply because it is a one time purchase.
I got my veteran and elite packs for the aurum and boosters. I used the aurum to buy the rest of the BPOs I was missing and a couple of passive omega boosters.
If you haven't caught on, they've probably made more money since that announcement than for the past 3 months combined. Rarity is a powerful force in the market, and CCP understands that. I hope they don't start treating that power like some of the players in eve do... |

Maybe it's a ruse to make us buy Merc packs? CCP releases a garbage pack, knowing its garbage, just before an awesome pack is about to be removed. We panic, thinking we better get that AUR now and proceed to buy more than normal.
Next month CCP roles out another Merc pack equivalent of similar value to what we had before. |

If the other packs wasn't sooo expensive, i could buy it. I can buy Vita games, good PSN games... The Merc Pack was a good way to mantain me spending money on this game, but, if CCP don't want my hard earned $20, its okay. |
