I have been checking out the server statistics and numbers @ eve-offline.net
I could be wrong, however my very brief analysis is that it seems to be that the majority of players leaving are the Europeans. The server doesn't really peak at all near Euro TZ any more.
A few months ago at this time of day we would see 4000 or more. Now were looking at about 2500. Granted it seems server numbers are more stable in the American TZ later on. This has got me wondering. Are the Europeans experiencing things worse than the Americans?
My only "Evidence" for this, apart from the apparent server numbers, are my own personal experiences in PC matches.
I am in the UK, many PC battles I have been in have been so laggy and such low FPS that they were unplayable. Sometimes this also affects just the normal regular game modes too.
The issue is many times the Americans I am in squad with just dont seem to get the same problem at all. At least not to the severity I have been experiencing.
Could there be a problem with the Euro servers? Is this something that affects Euros more? |

I guess there is no secret, the European costumers are more demanding and not that easy to satisfy. acialy |

I have had to move from the Euro server to automatic to get into a game within a reasonable period of time.
Edit. Not sure I am choosier than anyone else but I have found that living in a more rural area I have a slower Internet connection and because everything is in pounds -ú it is more expensive when buying something so I tend to try to get the most out of it.
Also from the UK. |

Interesting, this somewhat confirms my hypothesis. Thanks for sharing that.
Anyone else have any stories or information about this? I mean if we are lucky and this is a big IF, I hope to draw attention to this issue. Maybe the devs can spread some love and bring some Euros back into the game. |

I am an easy to satisfy American. Although the generalization is as all generalizations are, a generalization. I find being easily satisfied very satisfying.
Also I enjoy seeing games develop and evolve.
Sometimes they evolve into donkey poo. But I still enjoy the ride.
But, back to generalizations. Here's mine. If people enjoy the game it's fine if they keep playing. If they don't enjoy the game then it's fine if they leave. |

Is not only Europeans.... is even worst in other time zones. CCP seems to have make a game that only appeals to Yankees.
I guess is all the Pubstomping and Bullying other people .... We are more "civilize" in other parts on the world. |

Yup, my server used to be on Europe, now it's on automatic. I'd rather play laggy games than be constantly thrown up against GAC LAVs & Black Heart's WP factories in otherwise empty maps.
People I've fought alongside daily for months are now nowhere to be seen, chat channels are silent, and worst of all; PC is a choice between sitting on a timer, or staying up all night to play a match where gun-game is a lottery.
Perhaps the decline of PC activity is painting an overly bleak picture from my perspective, but I think if Dust fails, we may consider the EU as ground zero. |

I do think a lot of EU players have either left or are playing other games. I can still get plenty of euro gamess but more and more im being thrown onto US servers. Still see the same old faces around however, just not as often.
My server selection has been on auto because i want the quickest matches i can find regardless of location.
I usually play from 11pm to about 2/3 ish. |

Thanks everyone for the feedback in this thread. It appears we may have uncovered something.
Now honestly I can be the first one to whine, is there a possibility we can use this as constructive criticism and hopefully get something changed?
Like someone else said the EU servers could be seen as 'Ground Zero' but I think the reason people are leaving more so from the EURO side is precisely because of problems like the ones mentioned here.
It does seem like this game plays and works better in many ways for our American comrades over seas. Its a pity we dont have the same luxury. |
