...but it's what we're going to get if the knee-jerk, overblown and rash reactions keep flying at CCP over this weapon/vehicle re-balance delay. The only reason CCP ever went silent in the first place is because of the mass hatred spewed in their direction whenever they couldn't deliver on something they (and this is important to note) did not promise but estimated.
At no point did CCP promise anything, they said they would try.

We'd love to provide you with patch notes weeks in advance, but as mentioned elsewhere in this thread quite often features aren't finalized until closer to the release date.
For example, during playtest we didn't feel the Vehicle rebalance and new weapons were quite ready for 1.5 so they've been pushed back, however other features will be seeing full release (squad finder, new WP rewards, updated NPE, bug fixes, etc).
Full patch notes/Feedback Threads to come next week, will keep you in the loop as soon as we get any more info. :)
Suffice to say, the fact that we were told at least a week before Uprising 1.5 was scheduled for release that they had to delay the new weapons and vehicle re-balance was the start of something awesome but everyone was too blind to see it. CCP actually came out of the shell and took the time to inform us of the bad news so that we at least knew. This time, they informed us two months in advance and the immediate response was entirely negative.
When you go to work and your boss asks when you can do something and you say, "I can try to get it done by the end of the night" it's not exactly fun to go home at the end of the day having been yelled at by your boss for not doing something you in no way made any obligation to. This is exactly what's happening here. The only thing this actually does is breeds discontent and it's just going to make CCP not open up and say -anything- anymore, in which we'd be right back to the original problem of lack of communication. And who can blame them?
Yes, not having a vehicle re-balance until 1.7 or later is disappointing, but complaining about it is (and I'll quote this from another player) like shooting yourself in the face and whining that it hurts. Spewing acid all over the place doesn't make you look like the hero of Dust 514, it just makes you look foolish and immature. But more importantly? CCP sees that as well and when they see that as the general response, why even tell you about their internal road map?
This is a game that requires patience, just like Eve. Many Eve players had to wait -years- for fixes that were necessary, I myself flew Gallente since 2006 and for a good long period every ship I was able to fly was absolutely useless until they started throwing out balance passes. Two years later, they're still not done balancing the ships out.
That being said, if you don't have patience, you're better off just finding another game to play while you wait. Dust 514 is still going to be here and when you get burnt out on GTA V or whatever it is you're playing, you can come back and the game will be far better than it was before. |
