My big question is why CCP thinks that veteran players are going to continue to log in and play for SP without anything new or any reason to care about getting more SP? Why should I care about SP grinding when its been the same 16 v 16 lobby shooter for the past year I've been playing? The OP is right the Eve connection is a joke, the massive battles are non existent, PC is a disaster that is allowing some corps to pub stomp and nothing more, and the only thing that separates Dust from other multiplayer FPS games is the skill system. The grind for SP did keep me going for awhile, but now I'm content to spend a few minutes of my day logging in, getting my 6000 SP and promptly logging off to go play something else. I am not in the least bit tempted to get more aurum for the Omega boosters because the SP itself just doesn't matter. If me logging in for a few minutes to get some bonus SP is what CCP considers player retention then they are surely mistaken.
I have bought 1 Elite pack and 4 merc packs since joining closed beta so I have invested heavily in this game and right now that investment is not paying off sadly thus at this time there is no way I am giving CCP anymore money until this game begins to even come close to what was promised. PvE, player market, larger matches, and an Eve connection that matters are needed if CCP wants any more money from me. |

Great for you man, I'm glad you enjoy it, but how long do you think the free game will be around if they can't convince people to at least throw $20 down on a merc pack or some aurum?
The days of CCP getting money from dumbasses like me based on the "promise" of this game are over. They have to start providing people with reasons to want to pay for this game. |

Enough is enough, CCP is doubling down on making you log in even more so you can jump through their hoops. Get a life, freak. No one is forcing you to log in every day, and no one is forcing you to reach the SP cap weekly. Jeez, you losers are so pathetic. Play the game and have some fun at your own pace, you dimwit. You don't like it? then leave and go waste your time somewhere else. Woah woah woah. Tone it down a bit. While not exactly eloquent, he does have a point - sort of. The need to get every single SP possible is an imagined one - there is exactly nothing forcing you to cap out every week or buy boosters all the time. This goes double once you pass 5 - 10 million SP, assuming you specialized early.
This is kind of my point and I think the OPs point, the grind itself is not enough reason to keep playing this game right now. I know people will say, stuff like, well then leave, but if I didn't care I would have. I really want this game to succeed and deliver on the promise, but it never will if we the player base keep telling CCP "yep everything is great here!"
