Below you will find a link that confirms with two blue posts on that page on how the new vehicles nor weapons changes are coming in 1.6. It appears 1.6 will be nothing more than a band-aid patch. As a dedicated tanker this concerns me as every point I have is wrapped up into tanks, aside from my complex dmg mods so I can at least kill things lol. The weapons and tank changes have been put off now more than once. Tanks are squishy enough as it is, and anyone that says otherwise is losing their mind. This is mainly about tanks, but yes the new weapons would be nice to have as well.
Maxed out Assault Forge Gun doe (*approx*) 2,800 damage every 1.8 seconds. Even with the best tank modules in the game we can't survive that. When that ASSAULT forge gun starts hitting you by the time you hit cover even with nitres you are either crippled or dead. The issue isn't so much the damage as that's what the BREECH forge gun was made for. Keep in mind this was confirmed before by a developer. The assault forge was meant to be used against infantry not tanks.
Combine this with the massive amount of proto swarms that was handed out at the last event, then combine that with the swarm buff recently given. Now a proto swarm can launch all 3 volleys in 4.8 seconds with lock on time included. If they are 300 meters away or so they are able to have all 3 volleys in the air before the first one even hits you!
Based on the calculations I have ran the easiest fix to bandaid this situation is one of two things. A flat 15% passive damage reduction, or a flat 20% HP Buff. The problem with this is fairly obvious though if taken away when the rebalance does hit, it would cause massive outcry by the community unless it was worked into the new equations. Well that or reducing the price would be another potential solution.
All I personally ask is give us the 1.6 as a hotfix to aid us at least until the balance is completed. I don't want a half balanced patch, but a simple hotfix to keep us from losing millions of isk would be nice. I for one have to play twice the hours I'd like to just to afford a hand full of tanks each day.
By the way if you are a troll please go else where *hangs a "Do Not Feed The Trolls" sign up* Lets hear from other tankers on their experiences. Yes I know that tanks are strong, or have the ability to the issue is that a single person can easily destroy with a 20k isk suit near any tank that may very well cost 800-1million isk. (mine sits around 1.2 average without proto gun)

No. The major vehicle changes aren't going to be in 1.6. We ran into some integration issues with the existing work that's going to take a little too long to iron out. Same goes for the weapon changes. CCP Logibro // EVE Universe Community Team // Distributor of Nanites // Patron Saint of Logistics
