its currently impossible to properly drive LAV with mouse/keyboard.
For some reason, the passenger seat cannot look around and when the driver touches the mouse, its head turns just as the passenger view used to do. So when I use the LAV I have to reduce the sensibility to the lower value I can, so that if I touch the mouse the effect is still bad but not to have you vomit right away. As soon as I leave the LAV I can't move properly cause have to reset the sensivity to higher values.
I can't drive like this, everytime I need to turn on a module I hardly understand what's going on (moving in the radial menu also moves all the view around). Also since its happening fast (and you usually turn on modules when in trouble) it often happens that I turn on the onboard remote repair module, where the view gets even more crazy as you touch the mouse. Can't even count the number of times I died like this..
Same applies to dropships, I've learned to fly with mouse but I can only use the first person view as by watching from outside I can't keep the view fix (as you would do by pushing the conroller axis). Took me quite some time to properly learn to land and you must sense the environment around you as you can't see it by yourself.
as some of you may say: The problem is reduced if I drive with the third view camera or use the controller, and to those I would answer: ... |

This does need to be fixed, however a temporary work around would be to use your controller on the side. If I had more control options, I'd use them (I'd use a MOVE, m/kb, and a ds3 if I had them all! I just have ds3, however, so that's what I use) |

unfortunately I dont play with the controller, and the only reason I have a ps3 is for dust and the reason I play dust is because they said it would be playable with kb/m. So yes, imho this needs to be fixed or at least an option to allow the slow-view-mode (as in third person view) should be added..
just as a controller player has problems playing with kb/m, I have the same holding a controller..

I don't have problems driving LAVs with M/Kb. It's different from what it used to be but it hasn't taken that much getting used to. |

Lucky you, you use first person view or third person view?
If I use the first person view and don't touch the mouse, then I'm able to drive but hardly can pass over people and don't have sense of what's near me. Also its nearly impossible for me to jump into the car and run away from a harsh situation while having to remember not touch the mouse or I will just hit the first wall near me.
As soon as I get the third person camera then I hardly can drive straight..
However the passenger view camera must come back as earlier, you don't know if there are enemies on the side of the LAV and when in a DS (same passenger camera issue) you don't know where to jump off. |
