KAGEHOSHI Horned Wolf
Cross Atu
Cosgar
Arkena Wyrnspire
^--all pretty thoughtful posters. Even when I disagree with them, they all seem reasonable and they tend to avoid knee-jerk reactions. |

I was just linking the names really...
Arkena, if you're unaware, kicked off the long-running super thread about Armor and Shield balancing iirc. Not all of the replies from Arkena are super-analytical, but they're responsible for a fair chunk of analysis of some of our game systems.
Cosgar was a frequent poster when looking at suit balancing across logi-frames, and I think his posts played a role in the PG finally getting adjusted on the Amarr Logistics frame (as well as the extra low slot). Also important was his stressing calm in light of what the actual issues with Caldari logis were and resisting the idea (such as IWS had) to restrict the entire role to sidearms.
KAGEHOSHI is a big idea person, and he's posted all sorts of idea for improving both small and large aspects of the game. You'll find him replying in most non-stupid feedback topics as well.
Cross Atu has a careful and measured analysis of most topics he chooses to comment on, though his ideas tend to get buried in larger topics instead of making his own posts for them like KAGEHOSHI.
I mentioned all of them because they represent the strengths of the Dust community to me. They're not fanboys, and they're not non-stop QQers either. They present rational arguments for issues with the game systems and frequently back up their claims with logic, numbers, other resources, and usually without "too much" snark (Cross is the only person I've seen 100% even/calm seemingly in 100% of his posts). They have typically broader perspectives and aren't overly invested in seeing their particular fits succeed over the concepts of balance. |

No problem. ...and yeah, I probably should've looked for some more representative posts...
I think there's a subjective element here of course, and I don't skype with CPM (and I'm only erratically in IRC), so I'm less acquainted with Jagerblitzen compared to forum regulars I see having more of an impact in feedback threads.
I can hardly blame Cosgar (or anyone) for getting a bit burned out. I think we all thought a lot of content at Fanfest would be here quicker, and I think most of us get frustrated with how responsive we may feel CCP is/isn't. I expected a more prompt response to the AA and AR-dominance issues of the current game myself. The situation can seem more dire if you're plugging away in feedback with few responses too.
Hopefully some of that does get addressed soonish, as a another month of those AR-hijinks seems like a chore at the moment. |
