I foresee many people being booted from squads for not having mics, and then getting frustrated at the game.
Perhaps the next iteration should have a filter for requiring mics or not. |

What I'm saying is CCP can't afford to alienate anyone who does not want or can't afford a mic from playing their game.
By not preempting this problem with squad-finder it's not going to help grow the player base. |

Apparently some people here can't read. Again- Let me illustrate what's going to happen
I am a new player. I use the new squad finder
Most squads I join have a tag that says [mics]
I keep getting kicked out because I have no mic.
I saw screw dust because I can't get a squad.
CCP isn't setting a requirement for mics and I'm not saying to. Players will.
CCP should add a filter for squads that require a mic SO THAT players don't get mad at Dust because nobody wants to play with them
This way they can easily find the squads where mics are optional and join those to avoid trouble. |

nobody here is suggesting CCP should force mics or that mics are a requirement for playing Dust
That's so far from what this thread is about, I don't even understand where all these defensive people are coming from stating the obvious from left field when that was never a topic at hand.
This is about NPE and how players are going to quit dust because many squads will kick them for not having a mic or listening to their squad tags in the title.

Nothing in dust talks about microphones
tutorials won't mention microphones
players are coming from consoles, most don't have or use mics,
most won't know what something like [mics req] means
Most players won't type it out to explain why they're kicking every one of the 15 people who joined their squads with no mic, it'd take too long
most players won't give dust a chance if they feel they are being booted for no reason from every group they ever join. They won't stick around long enough to learn about mics or why they should use them or why people care so much that their squad all have one. |
