Till then run sg or gett your smg really high in proficiency, use them like knives get really close from behind an pop em, my sg an smg has raised my kills like mad in the past week that's exactly what i've heard to do so i went proto in shotgun, advanced in scanners so i can get the 16 second one, and now i'm working on switching to gallente scout because the minmatar is SO gimped. i do better in my basic gallente BPO than my proto Minmatar fit. i also run(on my gallente) a 'syndicate' SMG and a either a Shotgun, CRG-3 shotgun, or KR-17 Breach SG(with one complex DMG mod). on my alt, i skilled into the Fotm AR, SMG, Core Locus Grenade, caldari assault just to see how strong it was, and the ishukone assault SMG tears people up, so i'll skill into that on my main and put it on the gallente scout when i get the skills. i dont see how people use that Fotm crap. it's EZ mode, yes, but it gets boring FAST, which is why i haven't played on that character for nearly a month. anyway, my biggest problem is that i was stupid in the beginning and didn't skill my core pg/cpu up, which is literally my biggest downfall. i only have them to 3, but i'm sure that won't be to much of a problem when i get the gallente scout proto. and yes i mean SCOUT, not basic frame, because i can skill it to 3 and use the proto with AUR until i get the skills to use the isk version. it'll be my first racial bonus suit  In my respec for uprising I put the proficiency of my knives and sg at 2 after I got the optional respec cuz I originally went gallente , then mini. I ran the mini for a month doing awesome with the knives an minmatar, then when 1.2 came everything I used was crap, so I slowly went gallente scout and smg, an building my armor, now I'm rocking dual proto smg on my mini an a gallente shotguner with pro 4 on the sg. I will say my best fit is my gallente adv race: Adv gallente Complex an basic shield K5 special pro 4 Toxin with pro 4 Quantum scan And the real money about the fit....... Is Enh armor rep Enh shield reg Now If I get hit hard I'm full health almost instant! Speed is dead to me now it's all about having shields come back fast an always havin armor even on the mini Shields drop so fast now an everytime you lose a little armor an have to find a way to bring it up, which takes you from killing, so use the reg as a instant shield buff in a fight when u duck behind a wall an as soon as their up your armor is already past half. I ve actually been taking shots with no shields an watched my armor still come up , this doesn't happen with shields so try that fit you'll love it sadly, i noticed that speed tanking is useless now as well, and right when i was so excited about finally getting my proto light frame... but anyway, that's an excellent fit, wouldn't mind if i copied it would you? the only problem is, all my skills are based around minmatar scout, so i still have to get: Armor reps shield regs Armor plates gallente scout operation(oh god) SMGs pg/cpu(kill me...) so that's what? about 5 million sp to get all that to proto? My reps regs an plates are only at 3, an my gallente racial too, my minmatar is proto speed and all that, if your on scouts united squad wit me an we ll go through ur gear an get u on a good cheap fit till you got sp for something else. But if your minmatar , use a dragonfly scout bpo if you have it if not get gallente light one or use a mini advanced, drop the knives till 1.6 an get really good at sneaking an shotguner, use the sg like knives, get the back an drop two fast shots right above the hips! Some reason it slows their turn speed. When knives are good again you ll be happy you did a month of sg training. I don't know what your skills are but use militia gear if u have too. Rock a 2/2 adv fit Sg and smg Shields Scanner Shield reg and armor rep It ll SUPRISE you how fast your at full health! If your biotics are at 5 your mini will run 8.36 no mods, use the militia shield reg then the armor rep, spend this week an get Shield reg Armor rep Smg Sg And gallente level 1 All that 4 under a 100000 sp an it will fit since it will save on your core CPU an pg since basic is less than militia. Run it just like a nova knifer, watch the kdr jump. Focus on smg, sg an knives for your weapons they all compliment each other
