Because i just went and turned Aim Assist back on. I ran it on and off for 3 days when 1.4 was released, to get a handle on it and to have an informed opinion. Please bear in mind that i am a completely middle of the road, but hardworking and stubborn, scrub.
But then i turned it off, because my primary goal atm is to build up my fps skillset. Things got tougher, ofc, but it was my choice and life was still good. But I've been feeling the pounding lately and wanted to re-gauge the AA, so i turned it back on for a few games.
And that's why i feel dirty. I found myself hoping that the guys i was killing in honest gunfights didn't catch my name because the AA was so obvious and embarrassing, tbh.
AA is back off. As penance i look forward to dieing a hundred honest deaths at the hands of better players.
It's too much, nerf the adhesion, for the love of the MInmatar gods and just causes everywhere, nerf it.
P.S.: One of my hopes for DUST was that it would someday become one of the games where peeps could go to learn their FPS chops, so that when those peeps went to other FPSs the would be a force to be reckoned with. With AA like it is now, i'm afraid that will never be the case. The rest of your universe is so hard, CCP, why have you made the core of this shooter so soft? It's heartbreaking, tbh. |

It's heartbreaking, tbh. the other night i was using AA and i did crap. Today i said f*** it and turned AA off and I went 24/1, 26/1 and 8/3(i tryed to use a miltia tank). But i know how u feel. I want dust to be game where peeps can improve their fps skill, but not everyone has fast reaction time. im 14 and if i fight a 50+ man/woman with out AA, ill probably win. Sadly, i almost fit that category ;) |

I think the AA is a little to strong close range and mid range wise. But if you completly remove it or greatly nerf it, Spray and prayiing with ARs is gonna be king again.... And i like using scrambler rifles and lasers... I agree, we need it for balance, kb/m will be getting more love in the future, which is a good thing.
It's just too strong in it's current form - if a player who never played shooters came to DUST, with AA on they would never learn to shoot. |

Do yourself a favour, don't QQ under the guise of self-righteous arrogance. Well, at least in the case where both players are not using AA, you stand a chance to learn something from a better player, other that how to break or avoid the AA tracking. |

Blake Kingston wrote:People need to say how much they think AA actually improves their aim by - 20%, for example.
These threads leave the ambiguity of how much it helps to treat 20% as being the same as 200%, since they just make a big woop of AA without saying an actual number.
Which is just stupid people thinking.
Anyway, go play with a mouse and keyboard and act as if that wouldn't add 20% or so to someone who is used to using a controller. I agree, we need to quantify this, and at a rough guess i would say that in a strafing situation the number of rounds that were landing on target was increased by roughly 100%.
I switched to m/kb for a week to try and get a handle on where thing were at. Tbh, because of the way it's currently implemented in DUST, it think m/kb is about even with the DS3 without the AA.
In the future, when the m/kb gets some attention, that may change, but right now it looks to me like the AA is wildly overcompensating. |
