So reading the patch notes and started thinking how to break the WP bonus for scanning.
If every squad member is running a scanner and an enemy is tagged by multiple scanners, will the owners of all the different scanners receive the points? 6 scanners at 15 points a tagged kill, 90 extra WP per kill, OB that much faster, scanned up OB...
Not even thinking about a couple of LAVs parked with scanners running while a logi with 3 scanners hops out, scans up on all 3, and squaddie riding shotgun pops a couple...
Was this plan thought all the way through? Is a hot fix ready? |

Vehicle scanners don't generate WP.
Scanning will be increasing WP accumulation but I don't think it's going to be as crazy as some think it will be. Well just have to see. |

C'moon. Squad of six scanners at hand will be hurting their own gameplay tremendously in a real game.
In farm situation, there are better ways to generate WP.
And most importantly scan WP relies on an enemy getting killed - which isn't an infinite source of bonuses.
And in the one farm scenario where you'll get a ton of kills, the scan cycles are likely to be too slow so it's better to get the kills all the time than to wait for scans to finish.
I don't expect scan WPs to shake OB or SP gain balance.
For example, Sq leader WP gains is more gamebreaking as it is almost totally passive - while the scan is semiactive. |

They don't even git WP now, it will only be in 1.5 that they start. So yea, they will in 1.5. Be prepared for submarine warfare, not a single reddot won't be lit up... on either side. |
