Why again are we all excited about monthly patches when the fundamentals of the "end game" aren't even in place?
Planetary Conquest still has some kind of horrid memory leak. I just spent the afternoon playing pub matches, not one bit of graphic lag.
Two PC matches? Steadily increasing graphic lag until myself (and many other members of my team) were at a few frames per second.
How can you possibly refer to this as "competitive", and why on Earth are we getting minor game tweaks instead of fundamental fixes to playability? If the basics aren't fixed (and quick) this game won't last. Everyone laughs when you say Soon. Hire some programmers, I'm beginning to think the "514" in Dust514 is the amount in US Dollars you spend on actual programming. The rest is just people tweaking numbers around. Put my money to use doing something more important than paying people to track down players with "offensive" names. Have your coders write a program to do that and spend my money on fixing the fundamentals this game dearly needs.
Sincerely, SHITHEAD McGILLICUTTY |

Apparently the clueless masses (myself included) that expected something more impressive than Skirmish (with lag) |

Roy Ventus wrote:Eventually when we get the major fixes and releases Eventually we'll get fixes to the fundamental game physics code? Sorry, this is the kind of thing you bring the coding team in for an extended weekend and put out a hot fix. My argument is that they are putting little to none of the money that's being "donated" to this "F2P" into actual hard fixes. Instead some dude is getting paid to re-paint sentinel suits into commando suits and sell it like a new product. Or tweak the damage of the flaylock (or whatever the FOTM is) to suit the moans of the masses. It's a joke. I've been here six months and seen nothing that looks like actual programming. Just a bunch of tweaks and brush-overs.
Roy Ventus wrote:Anyways- Once you realize it's just a game right now, instead of thinking of it as the mercenary/military - economic simulator that we thought it would be on day 1, it's not that bad. We'll get there though.
Yeah, I realize it's a game - I want it to operate like a game from 2013 should... You know, basic physics - doesn't lag out during competitive matches... Not like I'm really asking for much there. Believe me, I really like Dust - I'm posting this out of love, not spite. I WANT this to be something it could be, but I'm a fan of mockery in the face of incompetence. |

By wont "last" -- I should say, wont "grow" or "thrive"
Yes, people will keep playing. But I don't think retention should be the goal here. You want growth, not stagnation.
Just saying that as a business owner myself, I guess... meh. |
