I'm sure people have already put dislike requests but this one is better.  ....
How much easier would it be for you guys at ccp to read votes from a like/dislike system rather than sifting through every page. Please, still read the content as an elaboration of the votes, i think it would just make things go alot faster. It would let me show a negative feeling about something without bumping it to the top, over good topics like this one. Imagine only the best forums would stay at the top. (kinda like its supposed to be right.) even better would be if likes and +posts gave a bump then dislikes and -posts would do nothing....
I think you guys will get a kick out of this idea because it will be a HUGE time saver. Especially if you added a negative posts option.
I hope this reaches you Wolfman i think you will especially like this. |

Perhaps but Liking is not just associated with good suggestions game wise. I suppose you could say it the measure of the communities thoughts, aspirations, cynicism, apathy, or excitement.
I mean I have no clue how I got to 2000+ likes but I must be saying something that appeals to this community. I also feel that opening up that is likely to see the huge amount of exploitation and possible enmity.
Player comments are enough to condemn an idea, why give an already jaded community the tool of ultimate negativity? |

k... good point people on dust forums have the emotions of women on menopause in the middle of a divorce. but now that you mention it you should be able to give a measure on the post.
a LIKE means ya i like it.... but then other buttons like PROPS, GOOD IDEA, or a VOTE YES button or something... on the negative side you have a DISAGREE, TOO COMPLICATED/CONFUSING, or PLEASE ERASE!. (i want that one)
i really think having a voting system like that could increase efficiency in positive change for this game it would easily prioritize the LIKED and UNFAVORABLE ideas among players.
my theory is the liking system just makes a player stand out more to the community and makes his onion more valued which is basically like a high school election... (POPULARITY) of an individual not of an idea. the difficulty of this is that someone like me proly gets skipped over or if there not active.
AND how many time have you liked a post because its quick and easy rather then giving a opinion. well if you make more opinions as easy and clickable as the like button then alot more votes would get through = alot more voices would be heard =alot more players HAPPY.= more balanced dust game for everyone.
come on.......

I suggested this a long time ago but was largely shot down by people who were worried about it being abused by trolls.
I still think it's a good idea and trolls would be vastly outnumbered by sensible posters, just like happens on every other forum that has a dislike button. |
