And before you ask, no, not just a murder taxi. I actually want to be helpful, providing transport and such, though I do find myself barging into gunfights to slam into someone about to kill a teammate. Like a guardian angel, only Gallentean and on wheels.
Anyway, I'd appreciate some general tips to playing as an LAV driver, especially as one who chose armor tanking.
(Also, I tried search, but couldn't find any guides.) |

Any fitting tips?
Right now I'm using the standard Gallente LAV, the Methana. My fitting so far looks something like this;
x2 of the standard armor energizers (reduces damage the armor takes by about 22% total) x1 standard armor repairer x1 militia shield regulator (increases charge rate by 10%)
x1 militia blaster
I know, it's mostly noob gear, but am I at least steering (kek) in the right direction? Should I add more armor plating or what? |

Not the vehicle itself, but the turrets seem to oneshot both me and my gunner on occasion. Stay clear of those turrets unless your health and shields ( Located as a tiny display under your vehicle's armor and shielding ) are at least 75%. If you cant avoid them, pick either a route that allows you the fastest route past the turret to maintain your speed, or the route that offers you cover from the turret itself but will still allow you to get by it quickly. If possible, have a sideseat person for hacking installations to do it.
I absolutely hate sniper turrets. |

In terms of teamplay, I like to equip a scanner and go rolling around the perimeter, it's a solid way to help nail down where the snipers are as well as help isolate enemies.
Murder taxi is no longer really a thing (thank god) but you can still rack up some kills this way. I nailed a squad running across the road and bagged all 4 last week, so drivers aren't helpless!
Lots of good posts up there. Good luck!
Is it Caldari or Gallente? |
