Which any squad leader can do now, prior to 1.5.
So all they're doing is tightening security.
There are actually fewer possibilities now. |

There are actually fewer possibilities now. Oh, well umm, why is noing being mercs for the sake of mercs? Some do, but generally it is more favored and profitable to use in house players. |

Actually, I don't see this as tightening security. All they are doing is somewhat automating the process of forming squads. You advertise, either to the world, your corp or your alliance and then mercs can join up until the squad is full. If you want to meet new people then leave it open. Otherwise, restrict to the group you are already associated with.
Currently, if you want to pick up members of your corp you need to say something along the lines of "looking for 3, x up people" and then continue to watch the channel and pick up members as they respond. This simplifies that.
It would be nice if the Squad Finder could be limited to a chat channel.
