I find this incentive to be fair. We complain there's not enough players and then complain more when they specifically target those who have left the game? Silly goose. Oh what's that I hear? We should all be able to get these rewards? Maybe. I'm not positive peeps who would come back for these would come back any less quickly because this was offered to everyone, although i'm sure there's some merit to solely targeting them with incentive.
Regardless good job CCP on considering the need to increase the playerbase and doing something, however big or small, to answer it. |

new players + current players = higher player count.
The business tactic is great. Getting previous players to return is really great. Offering them items that current players can't get is the issue.
Maybe if this was a bpo, or something like officer weapons then yes sure...but those suits as rewards are fine. |

I have no problem with CCP offering cool stuff to get new players and convince vets to return. I do want a higher player count just like everyone else. My issue was, at the time of my post, there was no way for a current player to acquire these suits. Its all well and good to try to bring up the player count but there should also be a focus on those players that are currently playing the game to keep them. Some of us may not have defected to GTA or FF but there will be plenty of games coming out (and a couple new systems). What good is getting people to come back if the ones here leave?
If you're leaving because you missed out on some suits i'm positive will be available in the future...eh. |

They would be wise to work from both ends of the spectrum though by giving some sort of veteran reward for those players whom log on weekly, etc. for a period of time and then increase those rewards the longer that consistency is maintained.
Already have this in place with sp rewards for those that are dedicated. and the sp is worth more than some gimmick suits that will never win you a competitive match. Also, they implemented that reward for dedication before this. props to them. |

If you're leaving because you missed out on some suits i'm positive will be available in the future...eh. Again, you are missing the point. Part 1 - To attract new players and bring back old players, I like this promotion and think it will be effective for those that had left the game in hopes that it would get better down the road. Part 2 - I personally feel that the event rewards ( other than SP) that CCP has given out since Uprising have been a joke. People use maybe 20% of it and they could easily buy them on the market. Back in Beta, I made sure to try to get into Events so that I could get the suits like the Black Eagle. Now, I could care less about the events. Prior to Mintchips post, what was there that would have led me to believe that vanity suits would be offered as a reward for events in the future?
You assume i missed the point. I agreed with the point in a previous post. Regardless of which you yourself point out the sp reward and try to dismiss it (1) somewhat when it reality that's the key to this along with your admission which should have deflated your gripe in underline 2. |

Yes, I thought this would be brought up. It is a nice reward and as you stated much more useful than short term burnable bling. However, with that said what I was trying to express is that in my opinion if you want to grow and maintain a user base than it is important to work all ends of the customer base. The daily bonus is one way to do this but you can further enchance this by setting certain longer term timeline goals. The proverbial carrot and all that just a longer term one than the daily bonus. Yeah, up to 1 & 1/5th ambush matches worth of SP a day is extremely useful.... to new people. To the rest it's just a drop in the ocean when it can take more than a month to bump one skill up one level. I'd rather have the free suits.
if you're running boosters only the last level of skills higher than 5x take more than like 10 days. which is like 5% maybe of all skills. I can make about 600k boosted in a week just from capping. that's enough to max sharpshooter from 4-5, lvl 3 levels of scanner, or any number of other things. |
