I don't think it should be removed, but I don't think it should be text. Instead you see a light around the edges of your vision as if your visual signal picks up interference from being scan. It should be sublte, but better than text.
people would confuse it with the repairing **** and stay still. there needs to be an option to turn off this useless notification. |

Please turn it off so you don't know I'm hunting you. Wow I need a scanner to see someone is hunting me? LMFAO! I WANT you to come find me! I will pop you in your head before you even get close! I have the scanner. You are the scanned. I like watching people start spinning around when they get scanned. If you don't know you are being hunted you have less chance to react. My favorite thing is hunting hill hugging snipers. I scan them and they still sit there, unmoving, uncaring, soon to die. If you could turn off the notification and did that just means less tactical awareness for you. Since this is your thread why don't you go to Feedback/Requests and request the off switch. Makes you feel good when they use one of your ideas.
only retards pay attention to the notification... I don't need to see it on my screen every 5 seconds of gameplay to know im being hunted by some idiot who NEEDS a scanner to find some enemies. |

Picking my fights and setting up the situation to my advantage is the plan. If I scan the other side of the building and see a pack of proto pub-stompers that can't survive without running in a full pack of six then I go somewhere else. If I see someone on their own or with just a friend or two I position myself for the best tactical advantage. I run lightly tanked and heavily dampened -- on my own. If I have the advantage of knowing when someone will stick their head past a wall then I can take down someone in a super tanked suit before they can react. That's called "thinking." Something many players lack.
don't ******* care... I don't need something on my screen every 3 seconds to know someones following me. |

its ******* common sense to think someone is following you...
only the stupid need some notification that someone is following them.

We have escaped several flanking attempts because we have scanned the enemy and can see them coming. You don't like it, I understand that. I personally don't like being scanned as I am Logi and I die if someone looks at me wrong. But at least I know that they are within 100m (on average) of me.
I don't mind that people scan me and know where I am, il just shoot like I always do...
the problem I have is that there is constantly an annoying useless notification on my screen every 5 seconds.... I never change up my tactics or actions because im being watched..
I just want to be able to turn off useless notifications that do nothing to change up my actions or strategies. |

Now I will assume you have seen the results in an active scanner? You can see where they, and via yojr radar get an approximate distance and the direction they are facing!
If someone can see that kind of info on me, I wanna bloomin well know, and so should you!
don't give a **** what info they get on my suit and all, it wont change a damn thing. I just don't like to be annoyed by the useless notification every 5 seconds... |

There is a HUGE difference between knowing someone is following/hunting you, and knowing someone is following/hunting you AND that they know PRECISELY where you are at EVERY second. FFS! Are the implications of that difference that freakin' subtle?! If you're scanned, you can't effectively flank, or play with REs. There's no possibility of sneaky ninja moves or managing to lose the enemy in an installation. If you come head to head with someone who scanned you, they're going to get the first shot every time. If you're standing just around a corner and you get scanned, you're about to eat a cooked core locus grenade! Scanning is amazing, and being scanned sucks, and I can't understand why you don't want to know about it. Of course I know where the enemy is generally, but if I want to be able to cook grenades with perfect accuracy, and know exactly where to throw it for a triple kill before I even poke my head out around the corner, or line up my SCR headshots before strafing out, or know that there's some kid with AV nades and a nanohive lurking on that rooftop, I'm going to need a scanner. It's a tool, and an extremely useful one at that. If you really want to get rid of your notification, that's fine by me. You're just gimping yourself. Knowing when you're scanned and when you're not is important information.
its not important to me... it would be important if this was a stealth game and it isn't one so I don't care about it. |

All the text in the world isn't going to convince you the scan message is a good idea.
Makes me wonder if all of you are just playing ambush al the time...
I do skirmish all the time. its still useless for me |
