Dust 514 at that time will be dead for approximately 9 years and 10 months.
CCP has no official date for the PS4, which would be the solution to a lot of their hardware restricted problems; Instead, they will stick with the PS3 for too long with a poorly optimized game while everyone else takes the market for PS4, leaving Dust 514 very little growth room in that generation.
The best decision they can utilize at this point is to keep Dust 514 on the PS3 until they pull the plug to the servers, because there is no way in hell they can win on the PS4 unless they put their footstep on it when PS4 is released, thus, taking advantage of the early PS4's lack of games.
Once PS4 hits the 6 month mark, CCP is screwed (especially when Destiny, being released on both PS3 and PS4 comes out to play and compete with the already non-existent PVE CCP has generously not given us). |

LMAO- so true. Asirius is in 'that' state of mind again..love it-no homo
I really had high hopes and expectations with CCP after a successful (aside from matchmaking) version 1.4; the fact that CCP pushed all of the new content from 1.5 to 1.6 (if we even get it then) baffled me, and I think it was one of the silliest decisions despite balancing that they could have made, especially when BF4 and PS4/XBox One is right around the corner. |

Yes, actually, I would.
CCP is used to releasing (as you would say) "half-ass'ed" content on a regular basis; Remember matchmaking in 1.4, or flaylocks or draw distance in 1.0, or pretty much anything they usually release... What makes this any different?
Here's the advantage of releasing the content early: You can get people more interested in your game and drive up sales on boosters while people grind for hours on end for new content. Furthermore, they can "hot-fix" all of the problems within a couple days (all small qualities like damage, and AoE, and even price can be fixed over downtime... CCP does it all the damn time).
Here's the disadvantage of not releasing content early: People get more impatient waiting for more months for content to be released, and then save up all of their SP, wondering when the game is going to finally get fun (with new material), or even worse, spend that saved up SP on something you might not necessarily like just to pass time until the next update. Another obvious one is people leaving, of course.
You see... If CCP made a mistake on some of the content, just hot-fix, and everyone will settle down in a couple days (and probably commend your efforts); You can't just add content in the middle of the month, because that requires Sony's QA, so now everyone has to wait EVEN LONGER for new content to come out, and especially when newer competitive games such as BF4 are just around the corner (most people will say "b-b-b-b-but it's an FPSMMORPG, it won't be competitive", but you have to remember that the average gamer does not give a **** about genre-titling; they care more about having fun).
I guarantee that if CCP released this stuff in October, people would be trying to struggle putting enough time in their day for both Dust 514 and BF4, but with how stale this game is, Dust 514 isn't even being considered an option, and it only makes it easier for other games with faster release schedules to take the cake.
