Terrain currently in the game does not look natural, theres no sign of over time enviromental factors appearing to lead into the deseign of the terrain.
Lacking are the ditches and trenches formed for water run off or the carving of the rock and earth from wind or rain. The terrains are without age to them, looking like they are formed by a tool instead of years of weather.
Prime example of this is the map previously known as manus peak, the large flat area to the (east?) where the peak use to be. It has no depth or character like it would of been formed by anything natural, more such like people came in with machines and just sead "yep, that looks messy, good enough".
The game deserves to have natural elements to it like glacial formed enviroments or enviroments formed by metor strikes. Look towards earth a bit more, All the different terrain and how it was formed over the millions of years, how terrrians match up and dont just change dramatically, the natural aesthetics.
Thanks for reading. Showing to Team Daddies

I like the yellow texture setting, makes it look alien which is exactly what I want in most of the planets I visit in Dust. Earth isn't the only way to form a temperate planet.
I think it looks disgusting and unnatural. That's not exactly something you see in Nature and without an explanation it just looks completely ill-placed and foreign.
Plasma planets? Lava planets? Storm planets? I'd love to fight on those. This yellow stuff is just... I dunno, looks terrible to me. More like a texture mishap than an naturally occurring thing in the universe. |
