So, I was doing some thinking about thse weapons. I've only seen them used on YouTube videos, and in game TWICE.
I understand, its not like you can buy more once you loe them, they are a rare salvage weaopn. I like that they are in the game, and rare-ish.

So, the people that use them, especially in pubs... What The F*CK!? How pathetic do you have to be to use an officer weapon. Sniper's I can understand, because you are from from the death actions, But using a Balac's AR or something is flat out stupid, and really does show how pathetic someone is. You eventually die, so risk a gun that you'll never get back in all likelihood?

Now, for the future of DUST. Eventually they want a player run market (which is a VERY bad idea). So all the Officer weapons I'm sitting on, and not using during this time will make me a fortune in the future? i could very well ask 2M ISK each for them, could I not?

Where do these superior weapons find there place in the game?

Im still waiting for my ''Checkmate'' Imperial Scrambler Rifle....

"Checkmate" Imperial Scrambler just doesn't have the same ring to it as "SoxFour" Imperial Scrambler

I feel your pain brother, we need to just wait till player trading.

Personally I ve only unlocked the smg s, an I ve used maybe 5 of them an died stupidly almost everytime I pulled one out, not trying to proto stomp but I'm a scout so to even fit the weapon I need a proto fit an tbh I just wanna see the difference in the performance of the gun.

An hey if you have a ton of em an your good enough not to die using it than giver, I look at it like a treat, you gotta get said weapon to proficiency 4 before you can use it, so it's no different then finally getting a proto suit an using it just to enjoy the difference an the fruits of your labour.

Crap thing for me is smg is the only officer gun I can use since they don't have a officer nova knife or sg, but I gotta have like a 100 krins an balac ar, an scrambler pistols an forge guns an suits an all kinds of useless stuff to me that I would probably just flat out trade for smgs. It's a gun you ll lose eventually anyway so just enjoy what your able to use.

To use an Officer in a pub is a crutch. It will NOT net you anymore kills than it's common counterparts.

They have their place and that place is wherever their respective owners decide to field them.

<- Hoarding for the inevitable player driven market, where the elites with crap tons of isk will be willing to shell out millions per weapon.

2 mil/ weapon will probably be a steal.
We will have to see the market metrics after the first few weeks of implementation, but I'm thinking the moving price will be 10 mil for the assault class weapons and ~5m for the support class (Thales)

Many vets were able to stock up on these things when they would pop up 5 or 10 at a time....and then they hard-nerfed the drop rates - 1 to 3.
