They are concerned about "Fragmenting player base" in match making
Or
Because they are building towards adding a real, meaningful, unique game mode. Like resource collection or something? |

It's called the 'wait for a new gamemode' gamemode. It's quite a long gamemode that everyone partakes in no matter if you want to or not. |

Core Focus has been eating a lot of resources away from all possible other projects, So I wouldn't expect a shift in new game modes until the current roadmap is done.
The good news is the current roadmap doesn't have much more to go on it and has nearly checked marked off of the features stated months back it wanted to hit up on. Bar the balance, Vehicles meaning, market, fitting, NPE and a few other smaller points.
From the whispers here and there though I would almost confidently state the next roadmap is far more focused on 'context', or giving meaning to what you do. So its possible new game modes can be shoehorned in as a feature. Now core features shouldn't ever be abandoned but they won't be eating the entire studio's time anymore. As for continuing the monthly patches we're not sure yet and that is for CCP to decide.
But so far based on what was told to the CPM at the start of the road map's execution to where we are now... I only seen one thing not making the estimated time slot but from the looks of it not too terribly delayed overall with fragments making it in. |

The reason is that they are still fixing the trainwreck of Uprising and have not even begun work on new game modes... |

If they CCP chooses to discontinue monthly content patches this game will dry up after a month. I hope they recognize that. But speaking in a language they might understand this is bad for monetization.
Sure they might figure "We can do whatever we want, this game will resurrect from 500 online players to 10,000 once we release the next update in a year.
But during those doldrums nobody will be playing and therefore nobody having a reason to buy AUR. A small or shrinking playerbase is a toxic domino effect resulting in an ever small and shrinking playerbase. |

Uprising nearly ruined this game for me since after a year of wanting to be a pilot I became a pilot, only to realize how terrible of a decision that was, one that reeked havoc on my anxiety and almost made me uninstall the game for good. So now I'm stuck with borin ass infantry play that doesn't even remotely interest me and even just thinking about it makes me want to delete this ******* game |

But even then its not something id want to do all day. Vehicle play is the only real asset escalation dust has like eve. I hope they capitalize on that more with the vehicle rework in 1.4. I mean 1.5. I mean 1.6 now.
Theres a trend I hope ends as well. |

Its not that CCP has to have monthly updates from here on out as most games have succeeded with longer update schedules. The issue is that they have trained their playerbase to expect updates in that timeframe. Even if moving to a 3 or 6 month cycle might mean having cleaner and more meaningful patches, it will still get a lot of push back from a conditioned group of players.
If they were going to move to a different schedule, I would do it after a large update such as 2.0 where players will have enough time to experiment with the new features before getting bored. The game just isnt deep enough right now to do that. |

I'm sorry lol. Why did you do that though?
Perhaps more importantly ask CCP why there exists such a worthless and expensive skill. Absolutely no benefit from using it. |

Perhaps more importantly ask CCP why there exists such a worthless and expensive skill. Absolutely no benefit from using it. I went for the respec because I had thought that actually filling out my relevant skills would have helped increase survivability. I was woefully wrong on that front.
I just have 1 point in logi dropships now because there is literally 0 reason to waste SP on the other 4 points. The increase in HP for upping my modules is miniscule at best and without a PG increase skill my options are severely limited. Why put better turrets when you need every last point of tank to survive the follow up shot from a single forge gunner?
**** I can't talk about this right now it's seriously pissing me off. |
