extra high slot for damage mod lets you increase your damage an extra ~8% (stacking penalty) on the basic.
extra lows gives you more flexibility to run "mobile" fits and/or tankier cqc fits. will generally be more survivable. not sure about the bonus being worth it.
i see both frequently. |

Depends on whether you like using damage mods. The sentinel is designed for point defense, the basic can do some serious damage with a good attacking assualt and logi squad.
Edit: the sentinel reload bonus for HMG is decent if you can handle it. Maybe put a couple lvls on HMG reload. Every bit helps with that gun.

Trick question! Heavy suits suck in general.
Also shield tanking a heavy is probably the worst way to tank the Amarr heavy. |

It's sentinel* and the basic heavy frame is better at ADV but sentinel is better at proto. And basic is best for Forge Gun because 2 highs for damage mods. Sentinel is also cheaper.

basic heavy cause it gives you the option to put 2 shield extenders and 3 armor mods on. With high damage you can get 2 damage mods on which makes it a superior AV suit. |

toasterwaffles wrote:What if my shield extenders are leveled up, and I'm on a deadline You can still put a complex on the Sentinel even though Gank > Tank and Complex Damage Mod stacking is practically required. In the end Toasterwaffles you should do whatever you feel is best. If that means a shield extender instead of a damage mod because SP is scarce, then rock on. A decent crew won't be giving you crap over the fit because it doesn't conform. |

if you are asking about stat wise, then its all up to your personal taste.
basic suits offer no bonus while the sentinel offers weapon feedback DMG reduction ( meaning laser rifle and SCR do reduced DMG to you when it overheats ) & faster weapons reload.
basic Proto has 2 highs and 3 lows Sentinel Proto has 1 high and 4 lows
as a heavy user myself, i just use the basic proto, its too much SP to grind into the Sentinel Fit and its bonus is pretty much useless since i dont use weapons that overheats and i reload far away from any danger meaning the faster reload speed doesnt affect me, (HMG reloads slow enough anyways)
so its all up to you which fit you would want to go for |

To be honest i think the specialised suits should be more expensive not the basic stuff. Something went very wrong with the price tags. |

For forge gunning basic frame no question, the extra damage mod makes a huge difference. For HMG? I would say the sentinel because the extra damage mod doesn't make THAT much of a difference to me but more HP probably would, I say probably as I don't have it because I don't wanna waste points on the sentinel because the role bonus is cheeks.
Which one then? Since Forge Gunning is completely superior in the basic frame and Forge Gunning can be done effectively on basically every map in the game I would say just get the basic, the sentinel is a lot of points just to be a slightly better HMG fit and the places you can truly use that gun effectively are pretty far and few between.
Plus if you just go basic, you can us the points you woulda spent on the sentinel for a medium frame |
