I know many others have ranted like this but ima do it anyway. Mostly because this is my buddy's thread, hey D, ima rant on here. *Deep Breath*
(only shows my feelings on what we currently have obviously we can all rant and rave and speculate on what might come out and nerfs and buffs and such, but we cant be 100% sure so i am only saying how it is right now as of 1.4, well 1.5 but that really changes nothing in terms of the game.... also i suck at spelling and writing so grahmar errors is gona happens)
-Suits- The main item that makes a fitting. Usually the suit makes the man but in dust the suit does much more. Your race sets what your going to want to main your fitting in, be it G for armor, C for shield, M for speed, or A for low slots high cpu and pg. I came into this game figuring that there would be some sort of balance like, armor is higher hp but slower rep, or fat guys with alot of armor moved slower but ate at least one or two more bullets... or something as simple as a tank is harder to kill than a jeep.. but.. i am a man of simple tastes >.>
-Light suits-
-scout- Hard to see when your scanning with your eyes over a huge field. Great for what they are supposed to do. Near insta dead when shot, pretty expectable for being so fast and hard to scan. Could use a light weapon made for them like a melee weapon that has a little better range than knova knives seemling 0 meeter range, perhaps a 1.5m arc swinging sword that charges after you swing it, well recharges duno just a thought. Also some visual stealth camo better then shiney as ****.
-Medium suits
-Assault- The basic suit, what we all think a soldier should be, fast efficent and adaptable. Pretty well balanced as it is because its sorta the suit that sets the standard for balancing other suits. -Logi- The support medics of the game, healing us and reviving us, even if we scream no please god no my kdr! But seriously they usualy do what they are supposed to do and due to recent patches a certain C race got nerf hammered and we no longer see seas of black and yellow doombringers raining down death from 100 meeters with TAR's. All in all they are doing quite well for themselves, keeping up with the kdr of the other classes and amassing massive wp when done correctly.
-Heavy suits
-Sentential- The fat ass, the one you see and you either go oh shi, and die or go hey look and smile as your bullets magnetize to the fat head atop the fat body. With recent updates love has been shown to the havy, making their main weapon the HMG usable once again, but it has highlighted some severe problems.. One being that most fully fit heavys vs fully fit assault/logi is a fight where the ****** is twice as big, half as fast, and his only gain for this "bigness" is about 3 AR shots from 30m. Usualy the difference between a fit assault and fit heavy is around 200 hp at the most, if you stack full armor plates it could be 300, but then you go from being half as fast as them as a third their speed. -Commando- Fully fit could possibly rival assault suits in health, still quite a bit slower but a hell of alot more fire power, if you needed endless bullets raining at the enemies head you have it. However this comes at the cost of speed and health, you are put below the health of suits twice as fast as you, for extra adaptability, the kind of adaptability an assault gets from switching suits at a supply depot.
-Vehicles-
-LAV- Scouts -useless, accelerations nice on strait aways but dying in 1 hit to every av (same hp as a militia lav) is not really good in a vehical designed to keep you safe. Logi lav is much safer, in fact its survivability is much greater than a HAV. Your only threat is being shot out by the av ment to kill your lav, on a side note its repair is amazing but has the range of about 10 meters, and breaks the beam like its made of glass. -HAV- Expensive, slow, damage output comparable to light weapons (not equill but comparable, meaning close, aka 1 person in a tank can do comparable, or even less sometimes, damage than that of a single infantry) When you tier up.. you get hugely more expensive, talking 1-3 mill a tank easily, with less pg and cpu, for very little damage gain on a higher tier tank. -Dropships- nearly as expensive as tanks, but with the massive risk of tiping over, getting plowed over by a bad blue berry or even just the simple getting nothing for doing a whole lot of work. no points as a mobile spawn point, no real other way to ear WP than vehical assists. As well as often being shot down by team mates or obsessed PC leaders, who i swear have a rod in their ass going deeper every time they get anything less than a 20-0 kdr...
This games got potential, but some simple things the gamers want changed and can be fixed easily.. A few suit balances, a few weapon balances, then new players wont get horrifically stomped if they dont play to the meta as most people say. (however most games the meta is this vs this do this, but this game its do this or die repeatedly trying to be original.)
last note, few things easily changed to help balance stuff. Logi lav repair tool longer and easier to use, same with shield and rapair transfers, also more range, heavys a little stronger, scouts harder to see, and maybe this game will be less one sided.. Woulda put weapons and all their mistakes on here but ran out of characters :p haha. PS this game became auto aim heavy, i broke my hand 2 weeks ago, played with a boxers fracture and my hand in a cast and still did fine, but the usual use AR or be castrated. (I hate AR cuz its too easy to kill, so i go hmg and limit myself to a 15m kill range :p) |
