That's right, I'm asking for AV grenades to be made into equipment, not a grenade. Even rename it to something like the AV demo packet.
Here's why: -At present, they can be thrown without dropping your main weapon. So there is no moment of being exposed, like with a swarm launcher or Forge gun. As equipment, the player would have to select the AV demo packet, and dedicate to an attack on the vehicle, leaving them exposed to infantry fire.
-Nanohives, instead of carrying 12 AV grenades in a compact form called a nanohive, only some suits - ones you have to invest in - can carry a nanohive and AV grenades.
-Creates a real Drawback - Taking up an equipment slot would increase the tension of which equipment to bring - thereby decreasing the prevalance of AV that is passively brought everywhere.
If this is nuts, let me know what I'm not seeing. |

seriously though, this is a stupid idea. really stupid. Lets imagine this in a real world scenario.
Soldier carries grenades on belt: Grab, toss. Sollder carries grenades in backpack: take off backpack, pull out what he thinks is a grenade, throw an ammo clip. looks again, throws an acog scope, looks again..... "wait a minute, I just gotta look for my grenades"
not even a roadkill badger would think this is a good idea. Grenades are MEANT to be quick select weapons, just because we have nanohives doesn't mean ****. You want to make this game less robust? go play cod or team fortress. Or at least come out with ideas that IMPROVE THE FLUIDITY OF THE GAME I wouldn't be so offended if you said nanohives shouldn't replenish grenades, but no. you would rather go so far as make me pull out the dog **** awful select wheel and choose that grenade button.

I don't like the idea of that. For one when an LAV tries to run me over and it's a killed or be killed situation then what? Anyways they are grenades for that reason. I think that AV 'nades are a nice way to punish people who try to run me over. And if an HAV gets hit with them then it's thier own fault for getting too close to infantry. It's funny how people think that they should have tanks able to survive the gates of ****. They QQ and wonder why 16 Lai Dais hurt.
However as a tanker I do believe that AV can be BS at sometimes. but some tankers need to learn when it's time to get outta there |

If this is nuts, let me know what I'm not seeing. Well, for one thing, AV grenades aren't currently all that and a bag of jellybeans. LLAV's are nearly immune, strong tanks take concentrated bombardment from multiple sources, and even basic LAV's can take a couple hits before folding-- which means that, even if you have AV grenades and see the future-jeep coming, it'll have to miss running you over at least once before you can grenade it back to the CRU. And that's with the Aurum BPO version.
Frankly, if it weren't for those insufficiently-tanked murder taxis coming at my face at minimal expense to their owners, I'd probably switch to locus grenades.
Also, while useful (I admittedly swear by them), they already take up a slot that can otherwise be used for flux or locus grenades, and some of the higher-end locus grenades are pretty spectacularly nasty-- typically OHK on all but a heavy.
Are you sure you want people running around with two grenade types? |

AV nades aren't imbalanced. Packed AV nades are.
The descriptions of grenades currently have a light, medium & heavy feature, but it doesn't appear as anything functional. If heavys had packed, mediums had redular, & lights had sleek grenades, we could see an end to those Assault suits who have La Dais as a "just in case" AV option capable of soloing most tanks. |

just nerf the av nade power down to around 750 or less.. that way paper thin tanks hav a chance...
no single player should be able to solo a tank it should take at the very least 3 to 4...
they shouldnt do as much damage as they do since they r so easy to get... plus they can home in on vehicles..
they shouldnt be able to solo kill a tank..
a swarm launcher or forge gun should be required to effectively take down any vehicle...
if av nades can solo tanks so easily i think they should either get a nerf in damage or make it much harder to spec into them...
i may mostly run infantry but its sad to see tanks die so easily...
there have been a few tanks that seemed to be next to invincible but those would be the tanks with hav skills maxed along with a lot of other stuff..
they pretty much require a mass amount of armor and a 50-70% damage resistance just to survive anything these days.. |

Settle down now, note where I said to make it so it's no longer a grenade. I think you missed the point pretty badly. This isn't a cry about AV grenades being OP.
I agree about the selection wheel being terrible - and therein lies the best argument against it. It wouldn't help against an LAV. I think that's a sufficient reason to scrap the idea for me.
Maybe what we need is a button that changes/cycles through equipment. |
