But what if there was a third health bar that everyone had and depending on what type of suit it is determines its max upgradeable capacity. As in Light, Med, and Heavy.
This would be a way to balance sheild vs armor without changing everything in the game item wise. The only thing that matters is where this 3rd bar is put. This could be labeled as just Health. So it would be Shields > Armor > Health.
I think this would be a good thing to try out. I mean, its still beta and its not like those who are still playing now are going to quit anytime soon because of an experiment.... as long as you notify everyone that it is such before you implement it. |

We do have health. Your merc has a single lonely hitpoint that will keep you alive when all your shields and armor are depleted. Carful though if you stub your toe when that hitpoint is all you have left you will die. |

Basically. You have a Sheild bar, an Armor bar, and a standard Health bar that has no resistance or multiplier to any type of damage.
A Heavy suit would generally have more basic health. Med would have a bit less, and light would have even less.
Now what needs to be tested is if the suits within their own class should all have a flat stat. Or if the stats should be staggered depending on if its a sheild or Armor based suit. This would be easily identifiable because if one suit dominates all other because of this change then you try it in a different way. |

Kind of but not really. The onyl way of increasing this stat should be with skill point allocation. Not allocating skill point to unlock an item so that you can equip this item to increase the stat
The regen however, should be the same across the board for all suits like 15 or 20 a second. But not a contant regen. If you are damaged you have to wait 30 seconds or longer for it to start regenerating. As long as you cant regen while being shot (unless a rep tool is around) this should help with balancing and maybe make balancing weapons easier. |
