How awesome would it be to fight around a gloomy facility in the swamplands?
Or on a huge platform on the sea?
Don't misunderstand, I appreciate the new maps, but DUST's maps generally lack of imagination and actual variety. |

That's what I was thinking, planet that is almost considered an oceanic and you get placed in a desert. It's like WTF happened to the water! When CCP makes more terrain maps they should have certain maps for certain planets |

We'll see these "eventually." I think one of the problems is CCP has to figure out how suits and the various vehicles behave when submerged. Could a rail tank hide at the bottom of a lake and snipe dropships? Do dropsuits float, sink, swim? Can you fire any weapons while in the water? All weapons? How would grenades behave? There are a ton of things to sort out from a game design and physics engine standpoint, not to mention new animations and such to create. I can't wait to see it, but there are so many more critical priorities right now.
I'm looking forward to a map with rivers and bridges that create a ton of natural choke points. Dropships will be invaluable on that map. |

I would like to see a map that is set on a floating complex.....tanks would be of little use but dropships would shine.......would make room for aquatic vehicles perhaps.......maybe mercs suits enable underwater operations.......an underwater complex would be fun.......lots of possibilities |

To hell with water I want to fight on plasma and lava planets, a outpost suspended over the plasma on the planet setup to gather resources from the atmosphere itself, one wrong step or errant bolt of energy and your gone in an instant. Or fighting just feet above lava flows, certain parts of the map become open due to lava tide flows. Would be awesome. |

On the surface at least but, astronomers have found planets that could have it. If you Google goldielock planet(or something like that) you will find that we found quite a few planets that are Earth like. Also, while not a planet, many of Saturn's moons cotain water under the surface and because of some type of internal heating. |

You could ask the same thing about real life. Its probably going to be the same answer: Natural Resources. I doubt oil is a big factor during the time period this takes place, but I'm willing to bet there is something that replaces it. |

Only jovians can survive around water which is why they live on a planet where the only land is a small island surrounded by miles and miles of water. Anyone else that touches water suffocates and dies in the most horrifying and painful way imaginable.

Maybe we spend all of our time sucking up the water from such planets we fight on so we can throw more Gallentean sorority carwashes or wet T-shirt days, maybe even Magic Marrik's Iron Man show at the Ritz on Gallente Prime for the ladies. |

I doubt oil is a big factor during the time period this takes place, but I'm willing to bet there is something that replaces it. Some of the facilities we fight in are clone production facilities, I imagine water is needed to make clones, seeing as 70% of the human body is water. It would only make sense to build these facilities near a source of water rather than import water to a planet that already has some. The smartest thing to do would probably have these facilities being built in the middle of oceans, much like the clone production facilities on Kamino. No doubt there are valuable resources under the oceans of the worlds we fight on as well. |

There are entire planets in New Eden that are 100% covered in water and, yes, CCP does plan for us to fight on them one day.
That day might be years from now on a different platform entirely, but they want us to fight on every planet in New Eden eventually. We're just starting with temperate and barren planets because they're similar enough to use the same maps with different textures and effects. Gas giants, oceanic planets, ice worlds and plasma planets (yes, planets covered in plasma storms) are all going to be very, very different. |
