I think you should get assist points for anyone your teamates kill after you scan them. |

Agreed. I am curious; are there any point incentives to scanning (war points, skill points, etc.)? If a scan provides valuable info to team mates, then it deserves some manner of point payout. Otherwise the person scanning is just taking one for the team. Assist points would be an excellent incentive to spend time scanning. Otherwise the tradeoff of scanning vs going for kills is too severe. |

I think there's a strong case for adding to the implementation of intel assist rewards that were added in 1.5. First of all, mercs don't always join squads, which means that you may be on a team where nobody wants to be in a squad and yet you are still providing them valuable intel. Second, a scan benefits everyone on the team. It is called an intel assist, so give credit where credit is due. The intel helps the entire team get more kills and avoid danger. The implementation of the intel assist reward is underwhelming in my opinion. It is dangerous to run a scan. During a scan, a merc is vulnerable to attack, cannot swap weapons until the scan completes, and the process can give away his/her location. Simply running a scan should be rewarded. Not to mention that being scanned alerts enemies that there is someone in the vicinity. The scan procedure itself is worth at least 5 WP.

Yeah, I heard they were going to implement intel kill assists for using the active scanner in 1.5, sounds really neat!
Seriously though, the results from your active scanner are only shared with your squad, as are the points from the shared intel resulting in a kill. If you're not in a squad, your active scanner is virtually useless.
