when you have been through it all and seen broken promise after broken promise.... then comment
yes things are looking up, but still at the same pace as they've always been.
Im sure everyone that has retired or is about to will agree that eventually, this will be a good game.
what you have to understand is as a console gamer, dust has been given roughly 10x the amount of patience as any other game, and that only puts us to today...
by the time this game performs at a level that is expected of ANY successful shooter, everyone who cared (or has some money.. this game will always cater to evetards and broke f*cks) will be long gone.
Dust still has a chance should it get its sh*t together and come out on PS4, but it better not consider it unless all kinks are worked out.
remember this game started with a pretty solid player base, lost most and got a lot of new players.
there is still hope, just few are gonna wait around to see it happen. they'll just come back if and when it becomes the game it was promised (maybe) |

Yes dust is broken, but I have been having more fun in dust than other shooters. Go back to BF3 for a night and see how different that game is, granted it still requires a some skill. It does have better aiming mechanics, but Its more about who starts shooting first as opposed to landing your shots. Things are looking up in terms of mechanics. For those unaware https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=97190&find=unread lulz mechanics been gettin worked on since 1st beta build believe it when i see it.
No joke...it sucks having to learn the muscle memory again to aim. But its getting better. I would say chromosome aiming was still the best, don't know why they had to change it from there. |

if someone tells me with a straight face this game not gonna lose more of the 3000-3500 that left come november when the ps4 launches they're delusional.
Here are some fanboi arguments in support of dust and my counter argument:
- DUST is meaningful! not really, most ppl saying this play pubs. most corps on this game cant do anything in pc so stuck in pubs. dust only meaningful for the ppl with ISK and skill and even then PC is not that meaningful more a hassle/2nd job. Now ppl like to hate on PS2 not being meaningful but if u look at it for a casual player PS2 is more meaningful than DUST ever was because everyone in PS2 is affecting territory swaps for their faction whereas dust only a specific grp of corps get to play in PC
- CCP will continue to work on DUST it will get better! thats kool, infact thats excellent buuuuuuuut why play something that isnt fun NOW and suffer in HOPES that it gets better a few years later? why not just come back a few years later when its good and fun and play?
- But but but..........ur missing out on all this active SP! not really, most ppl have 2-3 suits maxed already plus all their gear. I personally have a tank fully pimped and lolcommando proto and a basic heavy adv and sentinel adv thats 3 suits + a tank only thing SP does for ppl who been playing a long time is help them have more roles. When ppl come back they will have passive SP stored up to further add to w/e fotm **** is around then.
- DUST is fun! thats a matter of opinion but tbqh anyone with extensive fps background will tell u dust is not fun and is very subpar atm game still hasnt gotten the basics right not to mention balance and map design are terrible combined with the fact that we are playing 2 of the most boring gametypes ever. Skirmish 2.0 is hella boring its as boring as conquest in bf3 on big maps. Ambush is tdm and tdm for me has only ever been fun on Halo and Resistance games aka small arena games.

It's hard to disagree with any of that. I think they sprinkle crack on some people's games though because I'm still hooked despite all it's flaws.

people love complaining. I get pissed myself when pc matches are broken. Stomp my feet all i want, still love this game: the most irrefutably revolutionary fps setup since the guys at valve picked up and perfected counter-strike (where have they been, slingin games on steam they forgot how to develop...still waiting on a comeback).
It's not simply new games coming out that depletes the loyal player base - constant banter over the "death of this game" lowering the morales of people who actually listen to you whiny, spoiled brats. Get off the broken game bandwagon, I'm sure you feel special making negative comments from behind the fourth wall. If you think the game is dead, gtfo - your posts are lame and no one cares. If not, keep playing with the thousands still active every day. Sure it's unfinished, but it is still light years ahead: check out theE3 trailer for Dust 514: it isn't CCP's fault that ps3 couldn't handle the first product they created, forcing them to start from 0. Ultimately, that trailer IS the potential of this game.
In the end, all of us with a real passion for fps gaming will indefinitely hope this game blossoms and crosses over to the next platform, reaching that full potential.. For that to happen, support with constructive criticism and keep your uneducated malicious jawing to yourself. Why don't you post some of your own personal rL work for all to see, dismantle meticulously and mock before you? Of course not, your lack of personality and individual thought processing wreaks.
I've seen enough games rise and fall in 20 years of playing hard. Mark my words, any game developer out there with brains is already copying everything this game is, knowing this IS the future of fps. Mindless, downright pointless cookie-cutter shooters like CoD have REALLY been dead for years, society simply hasn't caught up yet. Although bf3 trumps this on graphics, it still has no real purpose of play. We players of Dust are pioneers of the future of fps, whether it be on this game or not. Don't force the decline of this game, like MOH Warfighter. Valve (HL/HL2, TF, CS and CS source) spanned over decade, due to community support of the developer. |

I comprehend just fine moron. There is nothing revolutionary about this game and you are fooling yourself if you think there is. Economy, whoopie. FPS want to blow stuff up. Period. The game mechanics are awful in this game. Real breakthrough stuff for other developers to copy. Keep drinking that kool-aid.

breakthrough stuff, hmm let's see. Completely customize character's skill set, virtually making every player an INDIVIDUAL rather than a copy of everyone else out there (CoD,BF) with a purpose and effectively obliterating the quantified "rock-paper-scissors" game style we've played out literally our entire lives. Adding roles in the best way I've seen yet for any FPS. Obtainable parcels of "property" under sole (and temporary) ownership of the 'clan' that was able to organize a team, train, plan, and execute a coordinated strike on the occupying foes - aka something to EARN that is, in virtual terms, tangible and illustrated to all players as that group's property. Finally, a connection to an entirely different game...on an entirely different console, doing entirely different things: a connection that, if you wish to be truly formidable in the most important aspect of THIS game, is imperative to form (and devastating when tactically utilized.)
The ability, and downright necessity, to form alliances and seek mutual goals: OR, the freedom so market one's self, individually or corp-wide, out as hired hands with no allegiance/land/platforms; to seek payment that is solely required to participate in any match, and to progress one's character.
Economy isn't even instituted yet. SO, you're pretty much making random critiques that neither make sense, are relevant, or hold their weight. Either A. you're simply disgruntled because you're bad B. you wasted your sp (and in turn, your time - see A.) C. havn't made it anywhere here (corp dropout) or D. quote "can't comprehend" what the game is all about. "FPS want to blow stuff up" - dude...you are a CoD caveman. "Mechanics are awful?" elaborate, oh wise one. Go back to the stone age of FPS, with your 6 man random teams and 100x100m maps, whip out what I can only assume is a thumper in your case, and let the 3 perk mayhem begin.
Lastly, given all of CoD's "glory" - and how far we're supposedly advanced in gaming - riddle me this batman: what kind of LAZY, SECOND-RATE development company makes a game with (I can't lie) better graphics than this, only to force players to rely on ONE gamer's internet connection for it all to run smoothly? Any game that doesn't have its own dedicated neutral servers is a complete and total waste. Any time you see "searching for new host" in CoD, think of me. Better yet, hope you don't get Jabib's pakistan connection.

Any game that doesn't have its own dedicated neutral servers is a complete and total waste. Any time you see "searching for new host" in CoD, think of me. Better yet, hope you don't get Jabib's pakistan connection. P.S. OH YEEAAHHH
Have you been in Walter's meth lab again?
You sir are the definition of a delusional fanboy. I hate cod by the way so nice try but a fail on your part. See that corp name under my merc. It means I was in PFBHz. Perhaps you have heard of them. Once again, nice try but you fail once again.

Not the only reason for (I do still enjoy the game...even if I'm terrible) but it does make it rather tough to go spend a night playing something else without at least making an appearence.
That being said the social network I've got through my corp is what really keeps me coming back. |
