XANDER KAG wrote:Villore GÇô A study commissioned by the Senate Committee for Equal Rights has found no evidence for institutional discrimination against those of Minmatar descent. The investigation was conducted following a rising number of claims from Minmatar immigrants that they had faced widespread intolerance in the Federation, particularly in the aftermath of the Broteau Shootings. GÇ£While the committee discovered incidents of discrimination against individuals of all racial and ethnic backgrounds, including those of Minmatar descent, these cases appeared to be isolated and were swiftly resolved once brought to the attention of authorities,GÇ¥ the report concluded. GÇ£Equality and dignity for all races, religions, genders, sexual orientations, and philosophies is a core ideal of the Federation. The people of the Federation have not deviated from this ideal.GÇ¥ While the majority of the Senate have hailed the report as vindicatory, some have criticized it for faulty methodology. GÇ£The investigation only looked at those incidents which were reported,GÇ¥ said Asbran Eleskar, a junior Minmatar Senator from Sinq Laison. GÇ£Thousands of incidents go unreported every day. If a Minmatar is denied a job over a less qualified Gallente, do they realize this to report it? If a rentor asks a Minmatar for proof of employment, but doesn't for the Intaki, will a complaint be filed? This simplistic study is maybe even more damaging than silence.GÇ¥ Senator Traude Bonailles, a member of the Equal Rights Committee, dismissed the concerns of Senator Eleskar. GÇ£I can assure you the study was comprehensive. We did not simply base our findings on public reports. We were thorough and I am confident in the validity of the study.GÇ¥ ((Finally, some lore news again!))

lololol. Just more hurf. blurf and lies. Typical Federation propaganda. the only reason the Gallente are rendering aid to the Matari is to just have more bodies in their factories and shopping malls. They don't actually care about them as a people. We do, or at least most educated people that are not totally backward in their teachings by the mass media, who depicts the Matar in a less than flattering persona. Though I digress, you Amarr care even less about them. Some Amarr do not even consider them people. Some Gallente consider the Matari less than people. |

If only because you use sleazy tricks to manipulate them. You know full well the Minmatar people will never be allowed to move up the ladder of success in the Gallente Federation, where as freed Minmatar in the Amarr Empire are already making a name for themselves. Well two Matari tribes chose to remain so their populations may well be counted amongst those Matari who would stay. |

Only one tribe joined you willingly, the Nefantar, who then became the Ammatar. However many of their people left when the Elders attacked and are living amongst their brother and sister Matari as we speak. ((official/unofficial records of the Nefantar and the one for all the Tribes.)) Admittedly there are also many Vherekior, Brutor, and Siebestor, what have returned to the Minmatar still preaching the word of God and identifying with the Amarr. Your people are young, they cannot possibly know what they want yet, the Amarr wish to guide you to the right choice. One that benefits all of mankind. |

You know full well the Minmatar people will never be allowed to move up the ladder of success in the Gallente Federation, where as freed Minmatar in the Amarr Empire are already making a name for themselves. Could you name one of these people who are apparently 'making a name for themselves'? And for extra credit explain what 'sleazy tricks' we're using to subvert them from being wannabe slaves? I could dredge up the many names of Holders and the other pious that have earned their freedom from the Book of Records, or find a census of those who govern the Ammatar Mandate. A child of God is a child of God. And how is numbing your workers with sin and debauchery not sleazy? So what if you give them money. They have to spend every penny they make toiling away for your elite on food and rent, with just enough left over to numb themselves into complacency. The difference between Amarrian slavery and Gallente slavery is that the Amarr actually free their slaves. The Gallente oligarchy couldn't stand the hit to their bottom line. I must say I am impressed. You tackled a tough question there, very well I might add. I could not have said anything half as eloquent as that. |

Numbing our workers with sin and debauchery? What? Do you even listen to what we proclaim? There is a difference between something being mandatory and something being allowed. The Federation allows what some consider to be immoral, such as drugs and the like. It is not forced or even encouraged. It is up to the person to decide what is right for them, not the government. The fact you even think that the government is trying to "keep the people down" and what not is not only misguided, but absurd.
So the countless adverts displaying the libertine lifestyles that are so adept at turning a profit isn't actually encouraging those lifestyles? I'm sure the police aren't out there making sure everyone has had their quota of drugs or sex, the mechanisms ensuring compliance are far more insidious. Few will pass up the vices espoused as fun by Gallente "culture" lest they are called a prude or a teetotaller. Gallente culture is dedicated to pleasure and complacency. The real Gallente leadership are in control. when was the last time there was any real reform? The corruption and nepotism endemic to democracy are still rampant and the average citizen is still forced to toil for another's gain while being told they are free. If the Empire has been having greater reforms than your Federation you must at least suspect you are being played in a great farce. Again you spoke what needed to have been said. |

Surely the adverts to advertise the vices, certainly. Again, it is up to the person to decide to whether to indulge or not. The Gallente Federation is famous for allowing such acts, yes. Whether it is "dedicated" to it is up to perception. All of that was simply rambling. There was no meat in that statement in the slightest; it was the regurgitation of the propaganda that is fed to you. I find it ironic that a Federation aligned mercenary would accuse other empires of use of propaganda, you government, and political voting blocs are the highest pushers of propaganda during election periods, as well a pushing Federation Ideals across the wider population. |

Everything is bought and sold in the Federation - especially votes. The separation between business and government is purely semantic.
Has anyone else wondered why the Gallente have reignited their hypocritical campaign against the Caldari? Surely it has everything to do with hollow cries of freedom and nothing to do with the fact that Jucus Roden, an arms dealer with ties to the military-industrial complex, has taken power.
Profit is king and he rules the Gallente. Whether by contract, handshake, or just implicit agreement those that are rich and powerful in the Federation are seeking to just become more rich and powerful. I am truly sorry that you fight for such system, but Gallente 'freedom' is just fiction from serpentine tongues.
I find it convenient that you forget that Jacus was elected into office after the war started. Does this matter, it is convenient for him that it continues not just from a business sense, but also in a political sense. |

Xavier Hastings wrote:Aero Yassavi wrote:When someone can't come up with any other counter argument other than claiming it is nothing more than propaganda, you know you have won the argument. Carry on, Xavier has nothing worthy of argument. Excuse me?What I said was that his statement: "The real Gallente leadership are in control. when was the last time there was any real reform? The corruption and nepotism endemic to democracy are still rampant and the average citizen is still forced to toil for another's gain while being told they are free. " has no merit. It does not, for it is just a rambling paragraph with nothing behind it. You pick and choose the wrongs of our society, which we have done, and our imperfections, which we are, and seem to believe that we personify all of that. "The Gallente leadership are in control" Oh, really? They are our leaders after all. Of course, if you mean advertisement and propaganda, then that is a leap of faith. There is simply no way you could prove that our government controls what we see and tries to influence us on such a scale. If you could, there would be outcry. Outrage. "when was the last time there was any real reform?" For what, exactly? Discrimination? There was this investigation, right here. Apparently they are not as widespread as they appear. However, an independent group to research this would be phenomenal, in my opinion. "The corruption and nepotism endemic to democracy are still rampant and the average citizen is still forced to toil for another's gain while being told they are free." How do you even come up with this? This statement is but a string of words. They have no merit, no meaning. All just ways to defame our society. Different perspectives lead to different opinions. How you came up with this one, is understandable, for far to a extreme. And about the propaganda, I have read some of them. The "sermons". They talk about about we server "self-interest" and how we are "selfish". I am also certain that what Kesha brought up, such as the "corruption and nepotism endemic to democracy" is in there somewhere.
From this I discerned that you are commenting on the ""The corruption and nepotism endemic to democracy" and acknowledging its presence in the Federation.
How can you champion a debased and corrupt freedom, led by men and women in power who do not wish you to be free? |

Xavier Hastings wrote:[quote=Disciple Of Kesha] (maybe some would cry out - but the major players already have their lobbyists working in plain sight, and the people are played like puppets between your voting blocs. ) You seem to be blinded, Kesha. You have been told that the Federation is corrupt. That our government keeps the people down with immorality and drugs. That the option to do such things is but a method to oppress. And to that, I say, you are wrong. I say that the people are not puppets. The people are smart. They are intelligent. They are able to tell from the lies and the truths, and act on it. This, I feel, is the major distinction between our societies. You feel the need that the people be taught, nay, forced, to believe in your God and religion. That all must be taught the ways of morality. But we, we realize that the people are moral. That the people can make decisions for themselves. To do drugs, or not. To see a prostitute, or not. To vote for a candidate, or not. We believe the people are more then capable of such things, unlike you. [quote]
No Mr Hastings you are blind, you cannot even see the government you serve so faithfully doing these things.
I have accepted that the Empire has erred in its time, we have done terrible things to ensure God's designs are met and allowed to come to pass, we have done great things. We have warred against primitives, against warrior nations, against artisans and shepards, we have warred against our own people, the Minmatar.
Such is the nature of the Empire, a golden bastion of Civilisation or a beast of the lowest kind. Its is what and who we are, not perfect, not imperfect, something both Holy and Earthly at the same time. Yet our people are happy, content in their lives, they are not oppressed for the Speakers of Truth wander our space meting out the Lord's Justice.
But the Federation is a beast too. Built part from part of all the empires, or all the stars, because that is what it is, a cultural melding pot, a meeting of ideals, and a crossroads of peoples. And for all the Good that your Federation pits forth, twice as much evil slips and writhes it way out from the dark hidden places where humanities darkest desires are allowed to flourish.
Such is not morally just, such is not right. If the people make it so, then they are unjust, they are not right. |
