It's all up to CCP - the CPM has no decision on how/when/if elections take place. In the latest CPM activity update though, Hans did mention something vague about a CPM charter being drawn up at the moment that will set out a lot more specifically what's going on. We'll just have to wait for that... |

I highly suggest you read through the CPM Activity Report sticky in this section for all the reasons that an elected CPM is utterly pointless right now. Basically, they need to get the CPM properly set up and a functional relationship with CCP before throwing any elected sheep to the wolves. |

Buster Friently wrote:Last time I pushed this - important - issue, I was told that an unelected oligarchy was just as good as a representative, elected body for, well, representing the players.
Mind you, it was the unelected CPM themselves that seem to hold this opinion.
It seems to me, and I can't be the only one, that transitioning to an elected body should be the most important function of CPM0.
lol this again? You memory is clearly foggy, so allow me to remind you: there were scores of players who supported the current CPM's mission and direction and a handful that took your view of elections ASAP.
Do we really need to bring that whole argument back so we can all show you how little support you still have? |

Did anyone elect the founding fathers of the USA? No. You know why? Because they had to found something for people to be elected to first. CPM0 are Dust's CPM Founding Fathers - let them get on with the whole founding the CPM role and then we'll actually have something to elect people to. Right now, there is next to nothing to be elected to. That is why this discussion of elections is pointless at this time.
Even more so before we see whatever is said in this CPM charter that is supposed to be coming out shortly. |
