all I keep hearing is "I don't have enough guns to dump skill points into", or "I want invisibility modules + 14 new tanks, and 140 new suits"
seriously am I the only one that cares more about broken ****, and unbalanced roles, and getting stuck on terrain, and draw distance more then new shiny **** being introduced to the game and breaking everything? |

The problem with focusing purely on the core mechanics is that there's not really enough content to keep us occupied. We have a small, repetitive, and stale lobby shooter right now, and unless people get new toys to play with in the meantime, it feels as though the game hasn't been making any significant progress.
Plus, I'd like to see the mechanics for all modules fixed, rather than fix what we have now, sprinkle bugged content, then spend another expansion cycle fixing the bugs those brought with them. |

I wanted core mechanics fixed during closed beta, open beta, 2 week baby beta, and then recommended to not release broken core mechanic game, I am still waiting and wanting core fixed.
But they can't charge us AUR to fix their broke core mechanics so......................................yeah.

For the core gameplay, I agree with you. But on the issue of game balance, I'm one of those who would prefer new unbalanced gear, to a bunch of basic balance fixes. |

There are multiple teams working on different content areas. Art departments will do more art. It is pointless to spend too much time tweaking stats if new things are going to disrupt the balance. Tanks may turn out just right, only to become OP with pilot suits. Dropships might be pointless on all but the longest linear base-assault maps (skirmish 1.0), which are gone, and this fact can be depressing for people who only want to fly. People talk about one-sided battles, but what if that ultrafast rush assault could cap-out the blueberries, conquer their base, and win, in minutes? This would spare the losers a long red-zone isk loss failure fest. It's not fun for either side, and 'new' gamemodes like Skirmish 1.0 would solve 1 sided stomps. Attackers had a timer on each set of objectives, so if they failed to push out of their beachhead, it was over.

Unbalanced roles is simply because we don't even have them all yet.. with anything.... Even the suit bonus's we have now CCP has said wasn't what they originally had.... or is going to be... we are testing balance in something that isn't even going to be there long term...
Draw distance was CCP's "optimizations" so... yea lol
Getting stuck on terrain is product of their graphics overhaul they did when they launched uprising... why would you not want to beta test that? who knows...
CCP isn't good at releasing balanced content... they never have been... see anything they have added to this game and how OP it was till they nerf it...
They aren't even good at releasing generally un buggy content.....
What they are good at is hot patching stuff quick... and making it workable... What the Dust community is good at is bug testing and complaining.... Seems like we have a good relationship parameters set for building a game... |

If new content doesn't come until 1.6, it will mean we went 6 months without new content. 6 months of ONLY core improvements. That is a long time. While you get what YOU want for almost 6 months, and you complain about others asking for what they have been deprived of for so long? content that should have been there from launch; we needed to have all racial variants to make informed decisions on what to spec into, but instead we only got a few.
No one is asking for 140 new suits, and 14 new tanks. No one is saying they only want new content without fixes. Don't misrepresent the situation. |

This. We all want Core to be good, but we all kind of assume we don't HAVE to say 'we want the game to work' for them to get that we want the game to work. As it stands, a DEV team should already know that. We ask for features as opposed to core because we know they know, and we want to see the game grow into its own, not be 'Battlefield Sci-Fi Skins'. We need more content to keep us entertained and to keep the game from getting stale, especially content that we were (repeatedly) promised. You can increase the Core all you like, and they have quite a bit, but it won't matter if it isn't noticeable enough to be... well, noticed. A new gun is easily noticed. Slightly altering hit-boxes will make the game better, but no one is going to be putting that on the back of the box. |

Active scanners were there since beta, they were just broken ad temporarily removed until a while ago. Not new. Commandos are crap, and no actual new models. Just a recolored Amarr heavy with tweaked stats and slots. |

I think they are doing their best to balance between core and content; uprising release saw a huge outcry against the core and they backpedaled to work on that; the core is SO much better than uprising 1.0, seriously.

What content do you want? A new model of AR? The core of the game is broken. How can you feel excited about content when all this game has to offer is assault proto AR while everything else is broken. I mean how can you enjoy the new stuff even if they made it and put it in the game if the core the game is rotten.
Then again I think a lot of the ppl out there are happy having skilled into cal assault and running around with an AR and nades all day long; they don't seen anything wrong with the game. |

we all want the core improved but the game grows stale and repetitive if it's not taken in small doses. new gear changes the game a little and adds some variety. personally I want both, i would like to see alternating updates or one new map/game mode/piece of gear per update. |

I think the most discouraging thing, for me anyways, is it feels like the whole Beta process was useless. Like...what did it even accomplish if we're this many months into the official release, and we're still X amount of months away from having the very basic mechanics of the game working right?
I don't care either way at this point, it's all just amusing to me, but if I could care enough to get mad at this game anymore, that'd be why. |

What do you guys mean when you talk about continued improvements to core? The game right now is more broken than it has ever been. Some ppl like the aimbot, it gives that 'polished' feel to the controls. But what about balance? It is horrible in the game. And balance is supposed to be at the heart of the game - everything else is just decorations. Balance has been rolling down hill with only minor stops along the way. |

I for one would like new content and by that I don't mean guns or suits. New guns and suits won't be something we'll have to explore for any length of time.
Stupid change-up idea -- rotate the battlefield a random amount before starting. MCC's stay opposite each other but all the angles change around (for pub matches). |
