use the specialized dropsuits, they are way less expensive than the basics, usually the most expensive stuff is the weapon and dropsuit |

Darkphoton 2501 wrote:So, am i the only one having this problem? Am i doing something wrong? (Do i have to join a corp and do PC in order to switch to proto? Should i be in the winning team more often?) Do you switch to cheap fittings if the match goes wrong or do you stay with your Adv/Proto gear? Do you stay in your corp squad in order to die less? Do you use the best fitt you can and keep your wallet stable. Or do you go cheap and get rich? ;) I still run out my proto suit for sniper/swarm builds, as I can utilize two or three complex damage modifiers with them. However, now that I'm trying to play a more active role (particularly in the new maps) I've realized that it just doesn't make sense to use a proto build for CQC fighting. A suit that costs 150K+ really doesn't offer you significantly better odds of survival than the basic suit (about 15k) that I now use. I'd have to die ten times in the basic to equal one of the proto suit... |

Guinevere Bravo wrote:If you want to play n your own DUST isnt the game for you. There is a massive emphasis on teamwork, so if your not in a squad your instantly putting yourself at a disadvantage. As such you will die alot.
So either you run cheap BP suits, die more but cost less.
Or you find a corp.
If your good you can to be a ringer for PC. The payout is pretty good. Other than that I agree with Bravo teamwork is the best key to survival. No matter how cheap a suit is. |

Le Disagree. It's not very hard to go positive running solo with a medium suit and STD AR. Just don't play like an idiot. It's really easy to play effectively with a team without being a part of a squad. Just watch the f--king minimap and don't get caught alone. If you're still having problems, grab an active scanner. If you're still having problems after that, quit the game. |

the sentinel a-1 is all you really need. you'll get more kills with an ar, rather than the hmg. I use an exile over any hmg.
but keep your fit to 30k or so. that's how you make money. |

Cheap fittings.
My favorites: MLT Heavy/GEK/Plates/Damage
MLT Caldari Medium/Tactical Sniper Rifle/CPU/Damage/Nano
MLT Gallente Scout/GEK/Cardiac&Catalyzers/Uplink
All of those are <15,000 ISK, meaning you'll profit pretty much every time you have less than 10 or so deaths. Play them as their roles demand, and it's win/win.
Squad up. Every time. |

Rather like the tank threads - people don't think 'Hey, I can risk my income on a fit that could help turn the tide of battle'. Instead they think 'This fit is my right to use all the time? Why are they not paying me enough to use it all the time?'
You can't afford to use it all the time because the fit is a trump card - except you've begun to lean on it to just play normally. |
