Who in their right mind really wanted to play Warhammer besides the small fanbase that enjoys it?

And to think it was so innovative and new, fun even... Then they continue to ruin it, patch after patch, repetitive end game and updates full of broken content..
Then there was the end when they tried to appeal to the casual players and dumb down their mechanics the player base continued to dwindled month after month, it's sad to see her go.. :*(

Well this topic degenerated quickly
BTW it's probably due to multiple reasons
1. Player base dwindled
2. Game Workshop has absolutely RIDICULOUS restrictions on what can and can't be done with their intellectual property, for example I was part of a dev team that was developing a MOBA style mod for DOW2, and we were sent a cease and desist order because one of our characters didn't "fit in with the universe" or something along those lines. |

Nope. Take a break from Dust AND forums. Ironically you're acting just like an old man who's looking to ruin everybody fun because he's two years away from his deathbed. Damn those passionate people that I used to be like!!

Look at the player count there are quite a few Dust Fiends out there already just the majority aren't vocal on the forums or don't care enough to be.. This time next month (ironically like you said) the only people who will want to play Dust are the super fanboys, hope that's enough to save you optimisim. ..

You know, let me tell you a story. Growing up, I used to despise the elderly, especially the angry and bitter elderly. They were always mad at the young generation, always disappointed in the now, always irritated that someone was treading on their ways. I looked at them in disgust and disbelief. I constantly wondered what had happened in their lives that they were no longer proud to and happy to have gotten the chance to grow old.
That anger has turned me into a bitter, angry person now. I'm not even 40, and everyone pisses me off. I now know that is to be my destiny, to be on my porch yelling obscenities to the other persons in my neighborhood. Always scowling, muttering under my breath, and yelling at my TV.
TLDR;
Mr. Arck, you've turned this thread into what you despise. What was about a failing game in a niche genre, with niche fans, has had to close it's doors because it's unsustainable, is now about DUST trolls against DUST fanbois. Well done, Mr. Arck, well done. |

CCP builds better forum gameplay then they do actual gameplay... you know this obviously coming from EVE...reading the last couple things said in thread...
The whinning on majority from credible sources has been pretty legit... with mediation, the bullcrap was easily sorted and something other then nothing no one asked for, conceived of, or wanted would of been the focus of Uprising 1.0-1.4....and now 1.5...
Players have invested their time money and effort promoting a game we can see following the path of endless failed game's and project's by simply ignoring your central player base...
There are games older then most players on this game that have flourished so because of listening to that player base and implementing things for them... then not touching the stuff with general consensus.
You can fanboi at fanfest... here we are trying to damage control for Uprising 1.0-1.5 and its sinking hard, cuz CCP keeps going for the small holes when massive ones are staring at them in the face. |

That's absurd. There are vast improvements and the game has gotten better.
Ironically I was talking with someone who played Dust for a very long time and is pretty good at it. He said his main reason for taking a break or leaving Dust for a bit was due to all the folks who constantly whined and complained.
It gets to be much at times, I agree with him.
You guys are like Private Hudson from Aliens. All gung ho to go into battle and when we run into some stumbling blocks along the way, you start wailing and crying about everything. "game over, man! game over!!" Instead of focusing on what needs to be done and keeping morales high (like Corporal Hicks) to accomplish the objective (a better Dust).

Honestly ask yourself who is asking for Warhammer? Really? It wasn't a blip on gaming websites radar and I write for one myself. The fanbase is very small but dedicated but that isn't enough to support the game. Not too mention the new generation really don't get into Warhammer like the older generation did. The game was huge back in the day with those models and tourneys. Now? Not so much. It's no different than MechWarrior. And I love MechWarrior, but the fanbase has either moved on to other games or don't even video game no more. That means trying to get the attention of a newer generation.
So yea, I've thought about my comment.

The franchise!!! Exactly!!! But not the videogame market!!! How many Warhammers games has been introduced? How many has been actually successful?? If there was one, I bet there isn't anything recent.
For your sake, think objectively. Like I said, a Warhammer game on PC or console hasn't been a blip on anybodys radar for a long time. That's what I'm talking about here. Not those model sets and tourneys. Keep up True.

Lol, console gamers. Well, in my day all we had was D&D, Warhammer 40k and Car Wars. That's how it was and we liked it!
Kids these days. You young whipper snappers with your fancy consowwllleeesss, and your whatzihoozit compuuuttteeerrrssss.
I thought Warhammer Online was PC only anyway. They failed because they did a WoW knockoff instead of doing something that nobody else on the market really hasGǪ a sci fi 3rd person MMO. WH 40K has always been a bigger deal than WH Fantasy Battle.

the new generation is coming around the conour time to get your act together your playbase is fed up of the endless promises you have consistently failed to deliver on
I managed to play it up and until lvl 22 from launch day, i compare my new MMO's to much with Everquest and that never ends well when it took me 1.5 real years to accomplish an EPIC quest in EQ, when you finally hold those Epic weapons that also lasted me for the next 3 years, the feel was awesome, in these new MMO's EPIC items get shoved down your throat like candy are really a whole of bullcrap.
Played UO for 2 years Played EQ for 5 years Played EQ 2 for 5 years
The longest i played any other MMO sits at a record of 8 months and that was Rift and i played pretty much all of them, even Biowares Star Wars didnt last 2 months after i capped out at lvl 50 with full Raid Epic gear, hell i played SOE's Star Wars longer then that.
I got a whole heap of hopes for EQ Next, but we all know they will have dumbed it down for this generations kids, no more corpse recoveries that made you miss a days work, because your corpse decays in 24 hours and you all wiped in a raid zone unable to get in, no more hardcore raids that started at 2 am trough 8 am because there were no euro servers.
No more Camp spots where you sat down and actually chatted with people inside an open dungeon all for hours on end, eventually wiping because the puller pulled 1 mob too much, this stuff is all replaced with crap like press as much buttons as you can and lets finish this instance in under 20 minutes guys, so we can run another 15 of these today!
Oh gasp we pulled 20 Mobs, no worries my purple gear i got from wallmart will get me trough this.
MMO's were allot better when there were just 2 of them around.
