Not balancining wrk that will be worth nothing in 2 years when they finally get around to it then and everything is unbalanced again. Just due to the intrduction of 3 more heavy suits for instance... why so many passes to heavy balance why not just have 4 heavy suits now? If I might refer you to this! http://m.youtube.com/#/ccpgames?uid=3cxDDMpYTZ7PqZma4NdNuA&desktop_uri=%2FccpgamesWe are nearly 80% of the way (or will be by .6) and we will still have 4-5 months to go. The link is not working for me. Sorry on tablet is the fan fest presentation explaing the short term and long term plans for dust. (Yes I know, the guy got fired, but it doesn't change the fact that most of the goals in the near future section, have been achieved since moving to monthly updates) Use the SHARE link that you tube give you.

I really hope this game isn't going to go nowhere when it could be so much. rebalancing the same things over and over again without even consider the future effect of all skills, *training times* all weapons *balance between races, making lasers the only ammo less weapons, ect* All dropsuits *give us a place to put skill points into the Ammar Heavy Thukker Suit. And the Caldari model.
You haven't seen goddamn ANYTHING yet. Wait until they FINALLY realise that tiered equipment in an FPS is completely the wrong design philosophy and and one of the prime reasons this game will never be accepted by the larger FPS market. Then (if they want to truly fix it) the titanic rebalancing involved in a massive tiericide will have these forums pissing napalm for another 12-24 months. |

Then work on agency of the game and characters afterwards.
Ugh I'll get bored with Dust before they hit the good stuff content wise.... stuff that should have been the game from the get go. |

Passive SP gain guarantee you'll be back from your "boredom leave" when you get the news of improvement You've invested too much in this game to simply leave it behind... And will not delete your main... Just like most of us...

The way I look about Dust is as we are invited for a free meal.
When you're invited; you stay out of the kitchen. You stay polite toward your host.
If the meal isn't up to your high standards, you politely decline and leave without a fuss.
If the host ask you how you find the meal; you give them honest feedback in a civil manner.
For those who are like:
"hey , I spent money on this!"
Yeah, it's like you bought wine to enjoy your meal. Good for you. It's a choice you made. |

About first 25 mins or so, yeah I know, but he points out the goals for the near future, and far future, across multiple sectors. Tick off all thd ones that have been done, there is quite a few, not all necessarily big, but they have been done. The few big ones have been left till last!! |

This is the order or operations/priorities i'd like to see, with a bulletpoint of rationale for each one.
- Primary Priorities
- Core Shooter Mechanics. Poor mechanics drive fps players away from DUST very quickly. Better now but more to do.
- New Player Experience. DUST needs a quality hands-on tutorial. What kills noobs most is lack of knowledge, not sp or tiers.
- Secondary Priorities
- Corp and Squad tools. CCP can write content or let players write content. Corp/squad tools allow the latter and are central to the gameplay.
- Voice Comms with HUD integration. Full hierarchical voice comms supported by seamless HUD integration. Also core to the gameplay.
- Vehicle/weapon lineup & balance. Avoid doing this with a larger, newer playerbase - it would be respec hell and creates a bad impression.
- Tertiary Priorities
- Skirmish 1.0-style maps. Maps and modes must tell an engaging story - arbitrary-feeling generic fps gameplay will cripple DUST.
- Begin connecting EVE/DUST. information-only to start. Finalize BPOs/allow DUST market prices to float with EVE's market. Iterate on starmaps to show players dynamic real-time battle activity in both games in a visually jaw-dropping starmap. It succeeds if it fires our romantic imagination.
I do have one question for devs/GM/CPM-type peeps - this current development arc is meant to address core mechanics and the NPE, i believe. What is the expected lifetime of this arc? With the CPM charter and the new stakeholder status of the CPM we players need to know what topics to focus on in forum discussion if we are going to provide topical and timely input for the devs and CPM. |

I won't but in the end if DKS II is better than Dust and as good as DKS I will be gone for more than a year. The community with DKS is far better, and the game probably is too. |
