Then work on agency of the game and characters afterwards. Sorry to question this, but it's been two years now. I mean, two freaking years since the closed beta, they still do "core fixing"? This game was released a half a year ago and they are still "fixing the core"? I'm sorry if I don't understand something here, but what is it that I don't understand? And I swear to god, don't ******* answer me with "be course it's free". CCP got a leap of faith from us, and some money, but now it feels like the are toying and they abuse our belief and credit that we gave them. Maybe it's just me, maybe I'm alone with this mindset?
Seems to me that CCP has recognised that the game has become unbalanced and various roles aren't actually fulfilling their role and desired effectiveness as intended from the changes they made throughout the beta. Because they have recognised that there is a problem, they have started a development cycle in which they have set out to fix these "core" issues.
Once these core issues have been rectified, i assume regular content development will resume. Does that make sense? |

Once these core issues have been rectified, i assume regular content development will resume. Does that make sense? Yes it do makes sense, of courses. But how many people are working on dust right now, five? And what are they trying to balance here? a couple of weapons and a hand full of vehicles? What the hell will happen if they add new stuff, do they have to rebalanced all this **** again? Why now just trow the stuff they have in and look how people adopt it, how they use it and balance the overall, nut just little tiny peaces and balance everything again once it is released. How long does this balance **** have to continue?I know that MMOs are always at the balancing state, but hell! Since this game was launched, all we see and hear is balance here, balance there, and we are delaying the balance, here have a squad finder!
From what I understand, Dust seems to have a relatively small dev team when compared to big branded games. That translates directly into more time to do everything; patching, balancing, new content development - everything. You're also making an assumption that new weapons will lead to the rebalancing of everything. Not so. I don't see why new weapons couldnt be implemented in a balanced way from the get-go, and the balancing of that individual weapon can be adjusted to fit in with the rest of the game. This whole idea that one weapon will throw the entire game out of whack is a bit farfetched.
I don't pretend to know exactly what is involved in the rebalancing or even development process, but I can understand that with a small team making any changes, let alone the rebalancing that they've done on such a large scale takes more than a small amount of time. Personally I'd rather them take their time and get the balance right than continually **** it up in dribs and drabs |
