1.5 also did not have everything needed for vehicles would have made it in either as there was going to be a large number of concepts removed had 1.5 launched with vehicles that would have moseyed their way back in 1.6 or subsequent patches. For example from wolfman's post how many of you saw sensors mentioned on the type of modules?
As for work on 1.5 most of it has been code locked around the time 1.4 launched. It takes about a month for QA from two teams to plow through it, one for playability and quality(CCP), the other for system stability (Sony) about two weeks apiece.
Also balance changes as much as CCP would love to rapid fire these types of things the CPM found out they are not rapid fireable as we would hope they could be. To do changes week to week requires a scheduling nearly a month being before. Then the week for any individual item afterwards nearly takes a week to observe and absorb or much longer because players are funny creatures sometimes, we figure out how to break the games unimagined by the developers at times. So currently it is much more effective in the current environment to focus balance changes for patch releases instead and keep churning away at the back log.
There was only two 'content' features trimmed from 1.5 and several other smaller minor ones that needed more work. So most of the other features for 1.5 are still in such as Squad Finder and the new tutorials. |

Most of the features like adding some new menus, and a tutorial for what I cant see the urgent point of it right now, I might be slow.
NPE is urgently needed. Does little for you guys already forum posting here but it does far more for people who first join. We're still getting a fair number of new people trying Dust 514 and if the NPE does anything to help them along to try the game for a second day then we will be far better off.
Squad Finder is one of those magical features. What it could do for the game could be anywhere from meh to phenomenal but its really hard to tell without having in your guys hands in the first place. I however don't recall too many game with squad finder at all. |

Just stop IWS. This line is greatly insulting to people who have paid attention. When the userbase was referring to 1.5 as "the vehicle patch" and then vehicle changes get removed, the patch was not "trimmed" it was gutted. The largest portion of the patch got pushed back, and in its place are some slightly useful features, but nothing terribly important(aside from the tutorials maybe making blues less re.tarded). Oddly enough, you point about when patches get code locked is interesting. Because if I read it correctly, it was code locked BEFORE we had all those teasers dropped about new weapons coming in 1.5. Which makes it a very interesting decision to let someone makes teaser posts about something that CCP knew wasn't going to be in 1.5. Oh well, same old same old up in this *****.
Its a hard hand to deal with to be honest, CCP came out with bad news a short while ago and in full detail to the CPM and the CPM consensus was in agreement with CCPs own assessment, it was bad news and the CPM urged public announcement quickly as possible. CCP was also shooting for some appeasement measures to go with the announcement (in the form of numbers pron) but in the end decided to try to kill the hype before it ran amok. While level of detail and context of message where debated shortly CCP was pretty fast on getting the news out to you guys pretty quickly.
Also according to the schedule this was still in CCP's QA when it came to the CPM's attention and this was shortly after the new guns announcement as well. You have to remember the QA department are not the developers that slated the content off in the first place. It would be like my crew back in the navy, we work and correct a bunch of parts and send it off to QA. The customer calls asking where his parts is and we tell him its on the way. QA then comes back after the call and tells us all the parts are defective. |

So are you telling us not expect balancing changes until the next patch release? Is this info from CCP or are you making an assumption?
I am stating that balancing is a process.
Read Think Write Test Repeat 1-3 until acceptable Deploy Repeat 1-6 until acceptable
This process is never ending either.
Just right now Dust 514 is in an odd place as well with missing dominos. |

This is all I'm hearing from CCP and now you.
I'm fine with them delaying it as much as it frustrates me I'd rather have a complete product.
What's troubling me is that I'm only hearing about 2,3 things and it sounds like that's all that's going to be in 1.5. If that's the case then don't even call it 1.5 delay the number and give us Uprising 1.43.
Well they could have easily canceled the whole patch though...
Those are not the only two things that where supposed to be in 1.5, remember 1.5 features were already drafted and decided on nearly two months ago. Finalized around 1.4's release and for reasons stated publically vehicles and guns were cut from 1.5's total feature list. |

Given the obvious problems with being able to push content out, maybe they do need to drastically reduce their ambitions. Obviously they are still dreaming far beyond their abilities as a development house. If they need to shelve a couple of patches to get things on track they should do it. Don't try and wedge crap into a patch just to get a monthly release out the door.
well development happens nonetheless, I am thankful they did pull it instead of just saying eff it publish it broken. In return you guys are getting some stats pretty soon about the changes that were supposed to go in for the guns and vehicles so that should give the spreadsheet fu guys something to theorycraft with. |
