Here's another crazy idea: Deployable scanner/alarm/EM mine... thing...
Ok, this is what I'm thinking: have an equipment unit that, when deployed, actively scans a certain bubble and allows you to choose two actions. I will be triggered when someone enters the scan bubble. Either it will detonate with an EMP blast, greatly damaging shields, or it will mark enemies and alert you that they've entered that specific area. That way, if someone tries to get the drop on you, they are greeted with a nice surprise.
As usual, what do you think? |

I disagree. I think sneaking up on or flanking an enemy is an important part of tactical gameplay. This would not only be HEAVILY abused (just drop it anywhere a bunch of enemies are and zap all their shields), but it also eliminates stealth tactics and negates the need to be aware of your surroundings. If someone gets the drop on you, they deserve the kill. |

really?
ppl want ways to defend from players who sneak around the battlefield?
we have this thing called radar!
its also called a minimap too!
it shows u where the enemy is located when u look at it! and the best part is it doesnt cost anything!...
what im so shocked about is ppl who have no self awareness of their own surroundings...
and want to have a little device to locate targets for them....
here is a perfect example of some1 with no self awareness...
sniper sitting on large rooftop.
enemy dropship chrash lands on large rooftop..
loud explosion happens....
several more gun shots are heard with the sound of an uplink being destroyed...
sniper..still shooting at targets and scoped in not paying attention to the enemy player right behind him..
sniper dies due to lack of self awareness....even while at that whole time the sniper did not move an inch...
yes i have seen this happen many times...
and ppl have tried to do this same thing to me..it never works for them because i am aware of my surrounding most of the time....by sound or minimap...
so there is no need for this at all.. |

This sounds like an anti-infantry proximity mine. We don't have those in Dust, probably by design. |

would be nice if the passive radar wasnt so useless. 10 meters is so close range its insane and the most it can be increased via skills is 15 meters wooooooo. |

passive scans work just fine, you just choose not to invest sp and slots for it. |

Max for passive scan is 15 meters with skill maxed out. Did you read my statement or just post to be a troll? |
