May I suggest a 10 mill buy in, that way we have a prize pool for the winners. |

No because it goes against finding THE best tanker in the semifinals and championship 1 v 1 rounds. Naturally, similarly skilled tankers will end up in the same team, so when one team is crowned winner, the top 6 will likely already be there to compete with eachother.
Fairness =/= handicap.
I want the best team possible so when we go for the championship rounds, we have the opportunity to get the best fights against the most vicious tankers.
Charlotte, you are the lead weight on the team that you want to assemble.
You want to get the tankers that are better than you to do your work for you, so you can coast in to the later rounds, and then get your ass kicked.
Should have made an inb4 post about you refusing to be reasonable.

The reason drafting people into teams would be hard is because and getting everyone into a chat at once is impossible.
You don't need to be in a chat.
Put together the list of participants. Pick 2,3 or 4 team leaders.
Have a non team leader randomly pick a number between 1-100.
All team leaders take a guess. Draft order is in order of closest to furthest.
Draft picks don't have to be on a time limit, and can be posted in a thread.

I know I can, but I disagree on principle with not having an equitable distribution of top tankers amongst the teams.
I would have much preferred a 1 v 1 tourney where we could actually break down each others skills instead of allowing certain people to ride on others coattails.
There is a reason why Charlotte suggested a six man team. Not because it is a parallel to real tank tactics, because it isn't, but because that number permits him to create a team like the one he picked that will optimize his chances at making it out of the first round. He knows his own weaknesses in regards to up close tank fighting, so he wisely chooses others to do the heavy lifting in the hopes that he will be able to slide into a later round without risking his own self imposed title.
I cannot support such things. If you want to do teams, they should either be pairs or teams of four, to mimic common armor disposition in the real world. This would open up the tourney for more teams, and create more competition.

CharCharOdell wrote:^How would you propose we have 24 tankers face off in a tourney without 2 tankers having redline rail duels? Blasters only? Not fair to shields. No redline sniping? Nobody can know where there own redline is.
Tankers start from under their MCC.
There are three rounds.
Rail Missile Blaster
What is needed is some sort of centrally placeable object, either infantry or vehicle to serve as a contesting point. So either there is a specific infantry that can be killed somewhere in the large socket, or a vehicle that can be destroyed, something.
Tankers can win be either destroying the other tank, or making it to the central object and destroying it after x amount of seconds have passed.
There are other variations of this, one could be found that would work.
Finally, you use the total average of all three rounds to seed tankers for the next round. And maybe a round time limit. |

Also, don't pretend like we don't know where the redline is. I'm pretty sure most of us could draw pretty accurate maps of where the redline is if we had to.

No, I don't think Charlotte is scared really, just pushing for a dynamic that would preclude having to face certain tankers early on.
Charlotte doesn't want to run into Bob in an early round, or have to rail snipe versus Void, etc.
I gave credit where it was due and called it a wise decision, but it would be very unwise of those of us who want a real tourney to support his thinking.
After more thought, I am leaning towards pairs being the biggest unit, and only if we can't come up with a workable way to do solo matches. |
