Suit/Ship variants and bonusses. Dust 514 vs. Eve online
Frigates, small, fast moving and agile ships. But there are 7 diferent standard frigates for every race in Eve, and they all have diferent bonusses. If you look at the advanced frigates you will se that they are divided in to 4 diferent categories, 2 Assault frigates, 2 Covert Ops frigates, 1 Electronic attac frigate and 2 intercepters, for all the races, all whit diferent bonusses. There is also the faction frigates, there is 1 navy faction frigate for all 4 races all whit diferent bonusses. And finally we have the Pirate faction frigates,i think there is 5 of these speciel ships, and they also have diferent bonusses.
Im not entirely sure about the numbers, but its something like that.
The same goes for almost all other kinds of ships in Eve.
I will use 2 standard Amar frigates as an example:
You need to have 2 skills to fly them both, Spaceship command lvl 1 and Amar frigate lvl 1, but you will also neen to train alot of other skill to be a master of these ships, like armor, armor rep, shields, etc, etc, etc, the higher you get the skills that affetc these ships, the thougher you will get.
Amar standart frigate: Executioner:
It has 3 low, 3 med and 4 high slots used for fitting modules and weapons, and it can only fit small modules and turrets, if you put bigger modules or turrets on, you will run out of CPU/PG and power.
Amar frigate skill bonus per level:
10% bonus to small energi turret capacitor use. 5% bonus to small energi turret damage.
Role bonus: 80% reduction in propulsion jamming systems activation cost.
The bonus is in the ship, not in your skills like they are in Dust, in Eve your skills can make the bonus in a ship higher if you train them.
If you train Amar frigate to lvl 5, the bonuses would be 50% and 25%, the role bonus would stay the same.
Whit this ship the smart thing to do is: train Amar frigate, small energi turrets, propulsion jamming systems and ofcourse the basics skills all pilots need, shield, armor ect, ect, etc.
If you choose to use anoter Amar frigate the main skills you need to be a master in it can be very diferent.

Amar frigate skill bonus per level: 10% bonus to remote armor repair systems amount. 10% bonus to remote armor repair systems capacitor use.
Role bonus 500% bonus to range of remote armor repair systems.
Both ships are standart Amar frigates, and you only need to train spaceship command lvl 1 and Amar frigate to lvl 1 to fly both ships, and to lvl 5 if you want the full bonus of both ships, but the skills you need to master them are very diferent.
This is dificult to explain and it may be hard to understand if you dont know alot about New Eden and Eve online, but i would like to se the something this in Dust 514.
Frigates = Scout suits. Micro, small, medium modules, side arms, light weapons and grenades.
Destroyers = Commando Scout suits. Micro, small, medium modules, side arms, light weapons and grenades.
Cruisers = Assault suits. Mirco, small, medium and large modules, Side arms, light weapons, medium weapons and grenades.
Ballte cruisers = Commando assault suits. Micro, small, medium and large modules, Side arms, light weapons, medium weapons and grenades.
Battle ships = Heavy suits. Micro, small, medium and large modules, side arms, light, medium and heavy weapons and grenades.
Capital ships = Commando heavy suit. Micro, small, medium, large and capital modules, side arms, light, medium, heavy and capital weapons and grenades.
It would be SO DAMN COOL to se a TITAN suit ;)
Then we have the HAV's, LAV's, DS's and some time in the future we will surely get bombers and fighters to.
I would like to se them the exact same way in light, medium, heavy and capital versions ;)
I would really LOVE seeing a fast light tank plowing acros the field, fitted whit a light turret and 2 micro turrets. And heavy tank whit a heavy turret and 2 medium turrets and a light turret whit 4 mercs inside. ;) GIANT assault dropships whit a heavy turret for the pilot and 3 medium and 2 light turrets manned by a 6 man squad.
And it would surely make a poor merc looking into the barrel of a GIANT CANNON mounted on a BEAST of a GIANT TITAN TANK, feel warm yellow and brounish luiqid running down his/her legs :)
And the TITAN tanker would cry like a newborn clone, when a 6 man squad desides to to get the BIG BOOMER's out and take it down. KAAAABOOOOMMM ;)
I want to se bombs/missiles fall from the heavens, and i want to Eve starships getting shot down by planet side null cannons and giant missiles.
I think and i hope Dust 514 will copi a lot of the things we have in Eve online and make them ground/planet based...
I played Eve online for about 5 years, and i have seen A LOT of REALLY NICE stuff come to New Eden, and i almost cant wait to what Dust 514 will become in the future ;)
Im NOT saying this is the way it will or has to be, im just having a little fantasy ;)
