How many of you have put a fitting together and wanted to try it out before going into battle?
Maybe this is more for newbie players or players who've specialized, but what to try something different or new.
This is what I'm thinking: in the fitting area under the drop menu, there will be a selection labeled "test". The test area can be a "totally virtual" landscape with static and moving targets at different ranges (or maybe that can be toggled). These differring targets could resemble basic, unspecialized versions of light, medium, and heavy dropsuits, as well as different vehicles. As you attack fittings, you can see a clear visualization of how much damage you are doing to shields and armor respectively. Maybe above your reticule you can see a duplicate of the armor and shield readouts you normally see on your HUD to give you a good visualization of how much damage you are doing to each.
This way you can have a glimpse into what your loadout can do without draining your reserves while you're still unsure of it. |

Either way I want some of these. |

We would need test area for many reasons.
For that, and also for testing controls. Nowadays games do have to have a multitude of settings tuning controls, while that's good it still means tuning them is a pain. Having to fully deploy into real battle is a terrible way to do that. =(
+1 for test area. |
