I am going to keep this as short as possible
upgrade the swam launchers to a heavy weapon it would reduce the amount of people running around the battle with a lock on weapon, and most would have to switch to the plasma cannon instead of investing in a entirely new suit this would help with the drop ships as well.
hope you all consider my solution thank you.

Right...because the plasma cannon is sooooo effective against tanks...right? As a swarm launcher you're already penalised by being a lot less effective against infantry (at least a forge gun can still kill infantry!). Making AV even less accessible is nonsense. yes that's why 25% of dropships are shot down within the first 2 minutes of every game and 50% at the next 5, 20% lose control when hit with swarm laucher and the last 5% make it out alive because they have a prototype dropship
as for the tanks the point that the 10% that stay at the edge of the red line says enough the other 90% either get blown up immediately or get destroyed later in the match says it all
look this solution could be destroyed if we had some sort of countermeasure to the swarm launcher say like flares with HSM in bf3 |

Amarr have lasers and that heavy weapon is coming.
Gallente have short range blaster (rail) tech and that is coming I guess.
Minmatar have projectile and we have the HMG.
Caldari always have two types of weapons GÇö long range rail and missiles.
Hence, the forge gun is the rail tech although I think it should have a reduced ranged. Long range is a relative term per the weapon in question after all.
So the swarm launcher would be the missile tech heavy weapon.
Combine this with the choice of ammo like in EVE and it would be awesome!
Think about being able to load in missile types for either armor piercing or flux for shields.
Make it a devastating weapon for someone trained well in it. Combine that with the heavy suit that can't move fast but can jump out of the way of a turret blast and can survive a turret shot better though not able to be very mobile unless using a vehicle and you have a pretty good balance.
That being said I wish they'd make weapons more dependent on skill training to be good. i.e. the sniper rifle. I'd like to stop hearing QQ about easy militia snipers vs. dedicated sniper players who've trained up to be useful. I think for the different weapon ammo's we can look to borderlands 2 assault rifles they have ( not to mention ammo elements ) |

Just wait for 1.5 Swarms need a little tweak down in power, the lock is what make the swarms strong good idea. Though these are just fine tune suggestions that I believe will help even the game out.

Thought I might mention.... I use a prototype heavy sentinel suit with a hmg so I usually don't find myself in a anti vehicle battle unless its a default lav or dropship... |

So a 60,000 ISK Swarm Launcher shouldn't be able to single handedly take down a tank.
Tanks are expensive, and are supposed to be a nightmare on the battlefield(if used properly). It's a team shooters, so people should team up on the tank.
4-5 guys trying to take out a tank sounds fair actually. if in world war one it took a guy with a grenade to destroy a tank.... ( av grenades ) I do not believe that the they would have been developed them at all. |

It's hit detection and an incredibly slow projectile which makes it totally ineffective against vehicles. then they should speed up the projectile speed. |

Not all updates are popular but if it helps improve the game then they can be good. think about it where would battlefield three be if they didn't fix the usas 12/frag rounds? |

4-5 guys trying to take out a tank sounds fair actually. Why do tankers ALWAYS forget that you can't just run a swarm launcher and win like that. My good AV suit cost me 100k a suit (My best one is 160k) and you guys can kill me 5x faster then I can kill you. have you ever tried to hit some one with a large railgun before? no? ok stop. now |

4-5 guys trying to take out a tank sounds fair actually. By this argument, it shouldn't be possible for someone to kill my protosuit with standard weaponry. A team shooter does not mean that it should take 4-5 people to 'try' to take out your solo tank. If there were a squad of tankers spider-tanking, then certainly that would be much more reasonable. Whining that your solo machine isn't nigh on invincible is ridiculous - Price alone doesn't justify an entire squad to take out you alone. If I bring flux grenades and a scrambler rifle (all standard gear) which costs peanuts, in order to kill a prototype shield tanker who has a 200k suit, should I be completely unable to kill him unless I bring at least three other people with me? so your comparing a tank vs a person in a assault suite to a standard assault rifle vs a assault proto suite.... not a good comparison. |
