Aero Yassavi wrote:The 450% headshot bonus will be an exclusive to the scrambler pistol, as it is actually part of the tech. The flaylock pistol already has the bonus of splash damage. The ion pistol will have a charge up feature. I am not sure what the special thing about the bolt pistol is. So the Scrambler Pistol rewards accuracy (Amarr) The Flaylock rewards inaccuracy (Minmatar) The Ion will charge up, rewards patience (Gallente) By the train of thought, the Caldari Bolt Pistol reward impatience, so maybe it has the fastest RoF?

This is what pisses me off. I like weapon variations but then they're all like "Yo we're placeholders" and no one has any solid proof, mostly basis on lore.
People say Caldari will be based on Breach weaponry, but then those same people are all like "Rail tech is long range". That's a damn oxymoron.
Secondly, the true Scrambler Pistol is the tactical variant? No one would use that, because the IA5 is subpar to the other variants. |

Caldari is based on breach and will have range, yes. And the weapon variations are not placeholders. Also, the scrambler pistol is the "tactical" version of the four racial pistols, but of course as you stated there is also a version of the pistol that's actually called the tactical scrambler pistol. One thing looking at the stats of that weapon won't tell you is that is has about a 2x zoom when you ADS which is very helpful. I never noticed 2x zoom in ADS with it but I guess I'll throw away a couple suits to see if do notice. Ok so why are all the Breach variants short ranged when they mimic the caldari long range? |

Aero Yassavi wrote:Ok, so I believe where both of you are getting messed up is you are assuming that the breach AR is just a placeholder for the Caldari breach rifle and the pistol will operate under similar mechanics. This is not true. The breach AR mimics the Caldari breach style, but not as well. Using this source and the one I already gave you, http://dust514.com/news/blog/2013/07/weapon-ranges-in-uprising-1.2-and-beyond/The Caldari Rail Rifle and Caldari Bolt Pistol will be breach in the sense of low RoF high damage, but will also have the longest range in their respective weapon categories. That is scary to say the least because I have been using the Breach AR and Breach Pistol in CQC very effectively. If the same idea applies to a weapon with more range, that thing will be scary to go against, because as I have found already, Breach weapons are for the most part beasts and in their respective range.
They would need to make it operate best at long range and worst at short range so we wouldn't end up with a clusterfuck on our hands. |
