I am happy about reading of a future update of us getting points for targets that are killed while actively scanned. My question to you all is what do you think is a fair amount of points to receive for a target that is killed while actively scanned? A kill is 50 points so I think points received should be less than half that. I know it might be useless to speculate as we don't know what CCP is doing but maybe a dev will read this thread and read some public opinion on what the community think is fair.

Honestly, I think that you should get the points only if you or a squad mate get the kill (not a blueberry on your team) and it should be 5-10 points (I prefer 5). Yes I do use the scanner. |

This was discussed maybe a week or two ago but I'm too lazy to hunt it down. I think I suggested the same as the squad leader commission: 20%.That would be enough that a dedicated detection scout could earn some decent WP. It would take five kills by others to equal one for yourself. Seems fair for the amount of time you'll probably be scanning and not shooting. Others thought that was too much. |

Yep around 5wp sounds about right, for killed targets.
1 lot of points to any actively scanning person at time of kill.
Hmmm could be a little more complex than that or Everyman and his dog will only use scanners with a decent length of exposure time. |

There needs to be some limit for WP earned by scanning too.
Imagine A-45 Quantum Active Scanner with 16 secs reveal time in ambush. You can keep scanning the whole match with no interruptions. |

It would be easy to abuse. I heard 1.5 is locked so now we just wait for the dev blog to see how CCP decided to implement it. |

I think 5 wp is good because even if 10 of your scanned targets are killed that is just 50 points. that is equal to one kill and can hardly be abused to farm orbitals.
But just for fun lets make it 10 or 25 points if a squad leader is killed while actively scanned
This is New Eden afterall. Squad leaders have the privilege of orbitals that can push them to 40+ or even 60+ kills that I have seen. I don't see why anyone wouldn't want to be a squad leader so why not add another downside to the role. Squad leading will still be very worth it, but just know that you will be hunted. |

No point in making it different for a squad member or a team member, that's just silly. I say 10 is a fair amount, 5 is too low. Just think about it, scanning 10 people to get the equivalent of 1 kill? That's a little too much. And how many of your scanned targets are even going to die considering the clone threshold. You have to make the warpoints competitive with other equipment. |

Yeah 5 is way too low ... When I started reading this thread I was thinking 25 ... reason being that's what you get for a kill assist even if you spray from a quarter mile and 1 bullet scratches the target before he dies ... by scanning them you're assisting more so than that ... in fact the kill likely wouldn't have happened if you hadn't scanned it !
If you're all thinking 5s n 10s ... I'd raise you a 15 maybe ... but I still think it should be closer to the 25 for the reasons above.
Edit : do scan results show to the whole team, or just your squad ? ... if it's just your squad then there's minimal risk of abuse ... if it's whole team then there'd need to be some restraint like a global maximum 'scan assist' points per match or per 5 minutes or whatever. |

They may need to do something with the basic scanners though because 5 second duration on detected targets is too short to get any assist especially if someone gets the kill just as it disappears. Some extra time maybe needed so a potential buff to all scanners in that arena otherwise everyone would just run the Quantum scanners. Also could you imagine the amount of points one can get with a good scan and a well placed OB. MY GOD! What if the scanner had the defend order on him, don't you still get extra points there as well. |
