Surely if a suit has inherent bonii they should cost more than the vanilla variant.
No I'm not saying increase the price of specialised, I am however suggesting that the basic versions should cost significantly less.
Iirc medium wise and heavy wise the cost is on par... Just wrong
For some daft reason the light basics are more than their specialised variants..
Can we not get a quick hotfix to sort this. |

It's all about cost of equipment. When you're new you are stuck with the basic gear and use cheap equipment, but when you begin to specialize you tend to use more expensive equipment. Kind of balances things out a bit so that suit types trend toward a norm of price. |

So are you saying that you have used the basic suits on the market?
I don't think anyone really bothers with them, most folks ( I believe )
Will just use free fits and customize whilst saving sp to move straight into a specialised role.
With what you said, does that mean that it is acceptable for these suits to cost the same or more as their using basic modules ( let's take weapons out of the mix a second) to only pay slightly less than the advanced suit/module variant to die over and over again.
I think there's only a very small number of folk that use the basic suits and pretty much no one bothers going proto basic suit as what's the point, yes at proto level skilling to them is much quicker, but they still cost the same, there are good arguments for going ADV specialised over proto basic.
The costs should be significantly cheaper.
I suppose my query is what's the point.. Why not get rid of them and make dropsuit command a higher factor skill.
We don't really want that, we are begging for more suits and diversification so the only factor I can conclude is the cost. If they were 40% of their current cost, it might be worth a giggle speccing into them

To be honest, basic suits are a useless SP sink, especially for the logistics class. I still remember when they had that crazy multiplier and it took me an extra week just to get into an advanced suit back when I had proto. |

That is precisely my point.. There is no point.
Is there a role for them or are they just a nonsense placeholder, was I thinking too basic to believe that it's just a cost issue |

I always thought they should have some bonus. I suggested making them give a +5% fitting reduction to MLT mods per level, so that for the most part you could get cheaper STD mods to fit on them, evening or lowering the price to fit them compared to specialized suits. suits. |

I think they said basic frame bonuses are coming. Maybe they will come when racial ARs are finished. |

currently basic frames are sp sinks especially if you are a logi, they should either be removed or reworked.
cost is mostly irrelevant since the mechanic is what really has the issues. |

Eh I dont mind having a cheaper ADV suit to fall back to.
And by cheaper I mean half as cheap as a logi equivalent.
A not-so-crappy meatgrinder suit if you like. |
