Don't do it unless you really just love the black suit. The sp you spent getting to level 4 could have gotten you 2 or 3 levels into assault or logi suits. The basic suits are substantially more expensive to run, without any of the racial or class based perks.
Armor is still a hard sell right now, unless you have a personal logi following you everywhere. The higher hp doesn't mean as much right now since nobody misses. If you are stubborn, I recommend dual tanking with at least 1 complex armor repair unit and as many high end plates as you can fit. Armor repair nanohives are nice, but must finish repairing armor before you get any ammo. |

Don't get the base medium frame. Seriously. Spend the SP on getting ADV assault or logi. It's much better in the long run to do that - in the end, you won't use the base frame and you'll be using the specialised variants because they're simply better.
If you put that SP into logistics, you could at least get the ADV one. That on its own is as good as a proto base frame imo, and the proto version is so far superior to the base frame it's not even funny. |

This.
If you really like Gallente you should definitely specialize. The suit is the weakest medium suit in game at the moment (because lolarmor), so getting at least a bonus from suit skills helps a lot really. The fittings I recommend are based on the Gallente Logi which imo is much better than the assault. I would like to know what weapon are you using at the moment. If you aren't using an hybrid technology weapon (ie. AR), then it's no use getting the Gallente Assault. Knowing what weapon you use is also relevant for deciding if equipping damage mods or not. Gallente suits can hybrid tank (shields/armor) so that they can survive more.
Gallente Logibro Example Fitting:
-High base damage weapon -3 Complex Damage Mods -4 Complex Ferroscale Plates -1 Complex Amor Repairer/Reactive Plate -Flux/Core Locus grenades -Triage Nanohive (heals armor) -w/e equipment you wanna use
Hybrid Logibro:
-Low base damage weapon -3 Complex Shield Extenders -4 Ferros -Armor Repairer/Reactive Plate -Nades -Nanohive -Equipment
Let me know if you need more specifics.

I run with a TAC and a Scrambler Pistol. It actually goes okay for me most of the time. I'm trying to get into Gallente suits because I enjoy having a huge health pool. I was thinking about going Logi already, thanks for confirming my suspicions guys =) |

Then definitely go Gallente Assault so that you get the hybrid weapon bonus and the sidearm. Be sure to have a nanohive that repairs armor. The TAC AR has high base damage so you should equip damage mods and keep your distance.

What kind of tank should I fit then? Repairers? Reactive Plates? Plates? (PS Thanks for the advice so far =D) |

Pretty much equip all 4 low slots with complex ferroscale plates, or basic plates if you don't have enough CPU/PG. The nanohive that repairs armor should get you covered with the armor regen. Exchange a plate with an armor repairer/reactive plate if you feel it's needed.

The hybrid bonus isn't very significant. I find that logis assault better than assaults... You'll want an armour repairer on there. Even if you have triage hives (which restricts you to using weapons with good ammo economy unless you use allotek) at some point you'll run out of those and they're not always convenient to drop.
I would also seriously consider getting the non-ferroscale plates simply because their armour bonus is huge compared to the ferroscales. You'll move slower, sure, but on a proto gallogi you can easily push past 700 armour doing this, with a solid rep rate, whilst carrying triage hives, a scanner, ammo hives, and whatever else you need.
Sample Gallogi fit:
Duvolle Tactical Assault Rifle Core Locus Grenade
Complex Damage Modifier Complex Damage Modifier Complex Shield Extender
Enhanced Armor Plates Enhanced Armor Plates Enhanced Armor Plates Enhanced Armor Plates Complex Armor Repairer
Wiyrkomi Triage Nanohive X-3 Quantum Nanohive A-45 Quantum Scanner Nanite Injector
That'll give you 709 armour, a passive rep rate of 11.25 HP/s when not using the triage hives for your armour, a little bit of a shield buffer to help against explosive weapons (which is almost a necessity for armour tankers), a prototype weapon buffed by two damage mods, and the magical explosive devices known as core locus grenades. You may not be able to fit all of that yet, but it makes an excellent goal. |

Thanks for the fit! I'll definitely make my way to this. |
