I know they said they are going to make tanks more visible in 1.5 by sound, but who thinks its freakin stupid they do not show up on you radar until they are inches from your face?
RADAR:
a system for detecting the presence, direction, distance, and speed of aircraft, ships, and other objects, by sending out pulses of high-frequency electromagnetic waves that are reflected off the object back to the source.
By this definition tanks along with everything else in dust is stealth. So again why do we have a radar screen if it is none operational until you use a little scanner that goes PING.
CCP only did this to make another SP skill sink in my opinion. Another thing, I get it I have been scanned, now can we get on with more important things.

When you are at school and you are being bullied just remember someday you will grow up and actually do something with your life except troll forums. TL;DR - Agree with my opinions or I will verbally berate you. Also, even though we have radar, wouldn't the technology to counter radar also exist? Please, be gentle.
Sorry about the other comments if they seem harsh. I cant stand trolls who follow you around and have nothing better to do than talk S*** for they seem to never come up with an original idea of there own. I was in avionics and it is a little difficult to explain on forums because of the detail in radar, stealth, and how the system really works. In simple terms the radar is very simple, but with added technology it has become quite complex. Object 1 sends a signal out like a PING, then the other objects around them reflect said ping and that is what shows up on radar. With stealth technology, the PING is absorbed or deflected instead of reflected. That is why sonar was so hard to defeat until recent. With sonar a certain coating of absorbent material was made to absorb and null the sonar wave. So to counter the radar our suits and vehicles would have to carry massive amount of power or a physical design to make it appear its not there. So, it not so much as a radar defeating a radar its more a system design to absorb or trick the incoming signal from returning to the source from which it came. |
