ISK is for spending, while play MLT if you can play proto?
What do you prefer having ISK and being a Half ass*d soldier, or Being the best you can be and spending some money?
I always play with the best i've got and i still have 78mil , because playing with the best equipment, its the best way to avoid death. |

I spent that just getting a thousand proto suits of several types, 1k geks, 1k duvolles, 1k boundless MD, 1k imperial, 1k hmgs, 1k smgs, 1k forge guns, 1k sl wyrkomi, 1k of most proto mods.
Hopefully 1.5 fixes a few things since otherwise all that equipment is going into storage in November.
And I am just about broke at less than 600 million isk.

I donated around 160mill ISK to my corp during open beta (to pay for 2 clone packs). I also donated around 160 million to the last corp I was in whose coffers were running low because corps reimburse tankers... even if they lose a dozen tanks

Starter fits are free and require no ISK or Aurum.
But hmmm lets see MK-0 four complex damage mods, complex shield, complex kincat, complex armour plate, Viziam......hmmmmm.
Or Amarr Assault Ak-0 and Viziam and a few complex damage mods and kincats....hmmmm.
Maybe in a few days if I can drop the militia and starter fit habit?? |

My tips are;
Run proto in Pub and stomp the milltia fits posted here.
Earn money playing PC, Id like to tell you just how much, but you can wait! (thats half the fun?!)
Earn bounties in PC. The Nikia's bounty from the FC for him going 10+ deaths was GLORIOUS. Ill take bountys all day, Everyday. |

Eve is more a game of economy instead of survival. Sometime down he road that will be leaking heavily through the borders and dust will follow suit. Better to be prepared ahead of time than to run an empty wallet. |

As others have said create a BPO fit, more survivability than a starter fit with more options, and run Ambush.
BPO's give you greater flexibility as you can fit a BPO repair tool or especially a BPO uplink. BPO Raven Assault Suit with only 1 equipment slot will give you fairly decent WP return and you don't die to often if you play with a bit of caution.
The BPO Sever logistics suit with BPO Rep tool, needle and uplink can generate a lot of WP but you do die faster and less likely to win those odd 1v1's that happen. |

That was king for me in Ambush before they nerfed the MLT UL and hives, but it still works ok.
The best part about it is that the MLT needle and rep tool are the best combination for the most WP gain due to the cycle reward system. Running MLT is the least risk AND highest reward. Run proto and you get fewer WPs and risk losing the most ISK. That only makes sense if you are in a PC match or have a corp mate willing to fund the better gear to save himself suits. |
