Tone that kick down now that aim assist has been reduced, and it should make the TAR more effective again. The aim assist wasn't actually reducing the recoil, but the slight magnetism helped me to catch my target again. It was nice. Note the part that I've now put in bold.
I didn't say it reduces the kick, I said it reduces the EFFECT of kick. It makes it less of a problem when lining up the next shot. Just like reducing the kick would if they take that route instead of retuning the aim assist to work differently on different weapons. Changing a single value for kick is a much more efficient method of fixing the problem than coding a range of aim assist effects on different weapons. |

Jeeze. That's right from the heart, man. I know how you feel; it's great when you feel like your weapon is awesome and that you're doing well in a game you like (want to like, in this case). Instead, we have to deal with the constant transitioning of developing mechanics that should have been ironed out months ago. The fun factor is really being demolished for some players. Just like some of the veterans who were suddenly not having fun because of AA, those who enjoyed AA found themselves having fun, and now we have a community that might feel like they've been shafted on both sides of the fence. That's not good at all and I can't help but find it inexcusable.
The game has me feeling pretty burned out, too, and I even took a break from play for a while. It's just mundane. The 'Adapt or die' philosophy was cute until the new and improved matchmaking turned out to not be so new and improved. The frustration in dealing with the mechanically changing gaming experience every other week is enough to make even the grind for SP less attractive. But hey, at least they introduced the daily SP login reward so they can show investors/reviewers just how many people are 'playing', right?
Dust has some cool potential to it, the concept is new and exciting but with the F2P model 'funding' it as well as being a the philosophy that drives the game, I don't think CCP will quite reach what they intended. So we'll get a neat, somewhat original shooter in space. |
