A few things here.
First off, the people saying the damage number you've shown is a cumulative thing are correct. It's ONLY damage applied by the specific person attacking you, and it resets after a certain period without taking damage from that player. So that 10,000 damage was almost certainly a combination of multiple attacks, and NOT the result of that single grenade hit.
That said, though, AV Grenades are in need of some toning down, whether that be a longer throwing animation or a reduction in damage or something else. As far as I'm concerned, Locus Grenades fill the role of a supporting weapon. If you're good with them, you can get a kill - maybe two - but in general they're more for area control/denial than a direct damage weapon. They help to make your other weapons more effective, they don't do the job for you. AV Grenades can be added at almost no cost to any infantry fitting and function as a perfectly capable AV weapon WITHOUT needing any other AV support. A handful of Scouts with Shotguns and AV Grenades are a legitimately deadly threat to both infantry and tanks.
Counter-balancing the need for an AV Grenade nerf is the fact that LAVs are already capable of surviving a couple of hits and continuing on - THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN. No LAV, even LLAVs, should tank 3 AV Grenades and keep going. And no competently-fitted HAV should die to 3 AV Grenades unless it's a pure Militia fitting against Proto AV. To avoid breaking the system further than it already is, LAVs need a nerf to HP in proportion to the one applied to AV Grenades, or they'll become better at being murder taxis again. |

If not, it depends on the tanks. If both are shield tanks, the blaster hits shields harder and will probably win. If both are armour tanks, missiles will give the edge. With either option for shield vs. armour, the blaster's DPS will probably win out if range isn't a factor. |
